This is a really challenging circuit, so I'd advise you if you can to do some practice laps first.

So about 8/10 laps I will roll the car on one of the many hills. I'm feeling pretty good about this Thursday.

This circuit is not only challenging for the driver, it's quite a handful for the system - mine's down to 15 fps in that twisty section before the pits, so I'm going to have to sit this one out. :'(

If you haven't done so yet, go from directX9 to 8.

also try adjusting your settings, lower the textures, special FX, lighting, etc.
I'm running around 50-75fps on this track with High to Very High settings, only really noticing any form of bog down when a few cars get into an accident in front of me.

Thanks, that's helped. I'd also forgotten that lowering the resolution (from 1280 x 1024 to 800 x 600 in my case) gives a huge jump in fps. It's now back up to 40 -70 fps. Bit blocky but easily good enough to race, so I'll be there on Thursday. Phil Gilliland

Direct X seven gives best framerate at Cadwell. If you try that you should be able to up your resolution again. Anybody got any times yet? I am doing 1.39's in Alpha and 1.40's in Cortina. Tyres seem to hold out longer in Cortina though.

1:41.3 in the Falcon. Fun but probably not a good choice of race car - may take the Cortina instead...
