I did a quick search on racing history to see what my PB is at this track. Into the 1,41's a few years ago. Best I could do this time around was 1.42 in qualification & 1.43 in the race.
Commiserations to Pepe - it's very frustrating when your race is finished before crossing the start line. With retirements & a better start than Eric I was into to podium places early on. I managed to annoy Eric by staying ahead for half the race until he capitalised on a tiny error & nipped ahead.
Congrats to David & Riccardo - looked like you had a huge battle from start to finish for the top spots.
Whilst researching previous races I did find one of the more amusing excuses for failing to start a race, courtesy of Phil Thornton in 2016 -
My wife has just found the vase that I had accidentally chipped. She wasn't happy, I had to quit to try and make peace. Sorted now, the vase is still chipped but my PC is intact!

These cars are quite fun to drive in Advance Trainer mode. Nevertheless, they do feel more of a handful than the F1 cars, particularly the chicane where you can’t see the offside edge of the car. My main problem was that Pribluda was not showing where the other cars were & the mirrors on these cars are about the same size as a tea cup. Apologies for the couple of contacts during qualification in the first race - just did not know where other traffic was. Cookies pace in the Chap was mighty impressive. I think I will stick with the Lola for Boreham, partly because I have a set up to my liking & partly because I like the colour.

I was surprised at the number of retirements, over half the field. My own race was rather uneventful. One minor spin into the grass which enabled Albert to take what would be 4th spot. I managed to claw back some of the gap but then have a scruffy lap myself & lose ground. Ricardo & Moises were in a different class, although still a bit behind the pace setters in the Works race. I am managing to climb the league table by consistent finishes & yesterday’s result was max points for team Black Night Racing.

Took the junior Ferrari for this race & found out very quickly I was not going to be in any way competitive. The Fezza did run most of the slow corners like it was on rails - so I had a chance of finishing ahead of people who made more mistakes. Apart from popping an engine early on went pretty much to plan. Note to Fabio & Cubbie - noticed you are regularly using the Protos in this series - which is just 10 token spend. The Lola BMW has the same tokens and behaves itself, unlike a wooden roller skate with an engine strapped to it. The Protos is undoubtedly fast (check Axel Cookie times at Spa67) but it seems to be the the most unstable in the F2. Anyhow - the big debate - the chicane. I attempted to keep two wheels on the tarmac. On the one occasion I drove across the corner - by mistake - it was a slow lap. I don't think anyone expects the moderator to analyse everyone's race. I would suggest we put this one down to experience & move on. There are many tracks available to race on so we can easily avoid those that are prone to corner cutting. Tracks that fall in this category would be Suzuka, Salzburg & Donnington. The second but last corner at Aintree is a contender but I'm told it can be quicker to stay on the tarmac.

Good race for me. Started P10 & finished P5. There were several incidents early on which promoted me to 5th & just behind Pepe in 4th. Front 3 were long gone. I tracked Pepe for lap after lap, speeds were very closely matched so my only chance to pass would be a mistake. Pepe was very stubborn about not making mistakes. in the last few laps we were caught by Dave C & David R. I made a wrong decision about passing Bernie & ran out of track so Dave C nipped through on the inside. Had to concentrate on the last few laps to keep Rainiers very fast Cooper behind. No issues with lag for me. No complaints about the track other than the posts although they aren’t an issue if you keep to the tarmac. To be honest, no real preference between the 70 or the 71 versions.

For BB I have tried different settings but always seem to work my way back to 52%. Quite a decent race for me. Ferrari lacked the speed on the straights against the Eagle & Honda but the handling was pretty stable. Had various battles with Philippe, Albert & Dave R. My only real mistake was running wide at the Sachs curve. Without that I might have finished 4th, but happy with 5th.

I should not have driven tonight. I caught a virus yesterday & not feeling too good. Qualifying was OK but just made a mess of the race. Thought I had braked nice & early for T1 but ran into the back of a Protos & it just went from bad to worse, so I retired the car. Sorry for interfering with other peoples race.

Some days just don’t go according to plan. Could not string 2 laps together in qualifying so what should have been a 2.17 was a 2.20 lap. ‘If you can’t be fast be careful’ race strategy was working nicely until lap 5 - just forget where I was & ran out of room to stop. One day it would be nice to finish Porto.

Good race - in parts. Settled into a three way battle with Paul & Rainier. About 2/3rds distance I ran into Rainier's Cooper on the exit of T1. From the replay I think DR ran wide & corrected. I wasn't trying a pass or even expecting to get alongside. Apologies if I was at fault & you are more than welcome to file a report. The Lola BMW felt a little down on speed versus the competition but it has great handling. In the last couple of laps I made three unforced errors - left the car in pieces at the scene of the accident. A nice track. Cuckoo Corner requires patience, Engineers corner is a bear trap for late brakers and Anson is just difficult to nail the exit. I'm quite good elsewhere.
