All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (34 laps)

Track: Castle Combe (Chicane)Download this

Cars allowed: Any car, once only, from here The real mod 1.0:
http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod10.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168781/RealMod10_exe

and last update (to ver 1.3):
http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim%20Racing/GTL/Mods/RealMod/RealMod13update.exe or here http://www.gamefront.com/files/21168219/RealMod13update_exe

It's best if you create a standalone GTL install (copy your GTL to a temp folder, rename it e.g. REAL GTL, then copy back to your usual directory. Path the install to the new REAL GTL you have just created).  Install ver 1.0 first then update with the ver 1.3 install. Run the sim and purchase the cars.
We will not be able to use any skin packs with this mod.

Drivers are reminded that the maximum number of drives in any car is One. Check your status here

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk RGTL
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Special Notes:  Pole sitter may have trouble seeing the start lights. Suggest they have the countdown switched on.

Hi Bill Thomas, note that this version has the chicanes so not quite the same as raced before. You're not supposed to come back from vacations knackered. What on earth do you get up to?  whistling

Certainly Syd, it's the chicaned version. I've updated the race announcement to state that now.

My internet connection stopped for a moment, and I was out of the race. Too bad, I was in I think slowest car, doing well in 6th place some 25 seconds ahead of the next car.

Always enjoy the combe and was great fun again last night.

Got mugged at the start in the slow to get away mini and then had to dodge my way through a few incidents on the opening laps losing a lot of time. Settled into a nice battle with Tony and then a what was to become a race long battle with Phil. I was able to carry more speed through the twisty bits in the mini, especially in the first chicane while the tina had the legs on the straights. Lost count of the times we swapped places and clean all the way, making it one of the most enjoyable races I've had. Great stuff  Cool

Despite all server troubles  Wink I had good practice and qualy and expected that this would continue in race.

But I never reached a steady rhythm durimg race with a lot of mistakes on my chase to a new pb which
I finally got  Roll Eyes as usual.
Better had to try to run a smoother race which - I'm sure - could have brought me up front one or two places.
Sorry Bill for bumping you in the final stage of the race  Roll Eyes.

The Mini was extreme fun to drive.

Apologies to all who raced and wanted to but got hacked off - after trying out Jag Mk II in my haste to get back for qualifying I did not see the server had allowed me to select standard car.  Huh hammer hammer stupid

Apart from that I was pleased that despite lack of practice I improved my times at all stages of event.  Made a good start and avoided the various spins/offs etc, think I was up to 6th and had a good rhythm going.  I seemed to hold things OK for a few laps then just clipped the entry into 1st chicane  getting bumped into solid scenery.  By the time I got sorted and back into any kind of rhythm I was last.  After that I put in some good laps interspersed with some parc laps.  Had a short battle with Special KS but overcooked it on the last lap to finish last.

Thanks Tony nice track - sorry for causing problems.  oops I was tired after my coach tour of Scotland - all that walking and those hills, use to all the level ground at Burnham on Sea.  Roll Eyes  whistling yawn wheelchair rockon

Shocked Total disaster.....Qualified P3 on a 1.13 something and thought I might be able to stay with Matt and Geoffers. Took my front wheel and suspension off at the last chicane and pitted. When I arrived at my spot the crew were having none of it and were all ready in the bar!!!   Roll Eyes When  I eventually persuaded them back out they took about a week to repair the suspension.!!  Roll Eyes When the jack went down it was worse because they had not changed the tyres so I smoked around for another lap and pitted again.  Grin Ended up in last and 5 laps down......managed to make up 2 laps on Bill and Eflibliz just running for the fun of it. I did have a slight coming together with Ken in his Fiat and for this I must apologise.  Embarrassed Sad

I hope I did not ruin any ones race or hold people up to much with my mishaps. Wink

Cheers

Firstly, sorry for the problems some drivers had with regard to cars not being available for selection. I had left some cars off the server so hands up, my fault.
Unfortunately the Real GTL server will stop if someone tries to enter the race with a non-Real GTL car and that also caused some problems last night.
But we eventualy did get under way and I thought the circuit provided some great action with pairs of drivers having their own battles for nearly all of the race. If I hadn't of hit the armco hard at Quarry, early on, and damaged my steering/suspension I think I might of claimed a podium place (or wishfull thinking).
Anyway I had a great race and well done everyone for a neat grid with a Real GTL mix of cars and classes.
More like that please!

PS Anyone know where Ade's disapeared to?
