All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (26 laps = ~50mins)

Cars allowed: Ferrari 250 Testarossa Download this

Track: 1960's Monza Download this

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FIFT
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Not forgotten but my PC is miss-behaving so it may have to be postponed unless someone else can do the server duties etc

First race for a while but not enough practice, particularly none with full tank before tonight.  Had too many offs all night.  New PBs in practice and qualifying but lasted about 4 laps before drifted too wide and went up over the retaining banks and that was that - early bath.  Still another night tomorrow - had time to practice for that.  Not that it'll do much good I expect - my glass is always half empty.  Roll Eyes devil rockon

Server started but as I'm unlikely to be around, Drivers will need to vote session forward at 20:20 to advance practise to qually.

@ Tony, shame to hear with your PC  Angry

Incredibly, it's so hard to get a 1-2  Huh...but we got a first & third  Grin Grats Ross & NRJ

Practice:
Unlike last with Jag D (I was quite new) but Ferrari TR, I have run countless race on Altbierbude & thought it was easy to take a setup from the other tracks...I had to quickly change my mind, the car was hopeless at Monza  Roll Eyes
Monza I can with my eyes closed from GPL & began to change the setup by the GPL - it did not work, logically - did some completely insane changes & it started to get better...continued in the same style, more crazy...better setup  Tongue

Qual:
Fixed still setup in qual & had time to run a pole time home...but one thing is qual, it would keep in the race ?

Race:
Did the heat in the tires on the start line, unfortunately, did not particularly fast, NRJ & Ade said goodbye  Wink However, when I came up in speed, they had no chance & NRJ seemed especially heavy (I had a full tank) but my car seemed incredibly easy to drive, as opposed NRJ & Ade. I help all I can to push NRJ, unfortunately losing NRJ brake point to Parabolica, Argh  Shocked
A shock when I see Ade says: 6% engine...I look at XD, no problems, still 80%. Waiting for NRJ, hope we get a second chance for 1-2, but Ross is flying & pass. My times on the XD is dead, no idea where NRJ is...I must take up the fight again with Ross, the gold we need to take home.  Cool

Thank you all for a great race  thumbup1

That was a ton of fun early when Ade,Pelle and myself were trying to fill one spot with 3 cars Grin. We all behaved like gentlemen as usual and had a cracker of a battle. Pelle was doing his best to keep me up front with some great draft bumping only to have me go too deep at the parabolica. I lost around 30 seconds and just like Pelle my XD dropped out shortly after that. So it was a lonely race from that point but it was still fun to race a truly old school sim race track Grin. Big congrats to Pelle's win and also grats to Ross for a solid 2nd. Good luck Tony getting your PC issues sorted. Cheers

Great fun in these cars at Monza.

Qual:I'd not done many laps prior to Qual, but had only run full tanks.  I took fuel out for qual, and found that (for me) the car was a bit tougher on low fuel (around Ascari in particular). Ended up doing a lap slower with only a few Gallons, than I had with full tanks.  Either way, I was not on the pace of Pelle, so it didn't matter too much  Smiley .

Race:A good clean start, sorry if I cut across a Ferrari approaching Curva Grande. I'd looked left and had nothing in my mirror, so moved across. Only to then see a Red Ferrari big in my mirrors Shocked .  Henry got ahead of me off the line, and we had a great 4 laps or so, following the lead 3, before his Testarossa went a bit deep into Parabolica, and I took P4.

From then on, I was chasing the lead pack, but unable to really match their pace. Only after Navin & Ade hit trouble, did I gain places.  I also had XD issues, making me fear at one point that I'd DC'd. Pelle slowed, and I took P1 for a while, but knew that I didn't have the pace to hold onto it, so was happy to come in P2 at the flag.

Well done all, hopefully I can make further rounds subject to whatever's going on in real life.

My wife say's nothing is my fault  Roll Eyes no- basic problem is that the Home screen does not have the "Recent" block in the top right hand corner of the screen, so I start off on a forum  where the last post was made.  Result the above.  offtopic rockon

Thanks Tony a fantastic car/track combo, I really enjoyed last night despite spending most of my time on my own trying to break into the 2:50s.  I really love those fast curves and no stupid chicanes or 1st gear corners.  I think it would be interesting to repeat the race with the version of the 250 GTO we used in the The Lawrence Clemo Memorial Trophy, to see how much technology has improved the breed over a decade – particularly chassis.
Alternatively two sprint races, one as above the other a GTC 67 sports car race.

Set new PBs in Practice and Qualifying; in the race in an effort to catch up I out braked myself and had a bounce between barriers.  Luckily only assessment of my ability turned out to be damaged.
After that I settled down and continued, off pace, and tried to drive smoothly and work my lap times down.
