All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:40 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (22 laps)

Track: Imola '88 Download this

Cars allowed: Ferrari 250 GTO Download this, Ferrari 275 GTB/C, Ferrari 250 SWB Download this

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk FERR
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Hmmm..just had a quick blast and the GTO is about 4 seconds quicker than the other 2 cars. A real shame as the 275GTB is such a nice drive but I stand no chance of being competetive in that  Sad

On a plus point, this version of Imola is superb  Cool

Yes another superb open track spoilt by safety brigade - pity we don't take the US view, racing is dangerous there will be occasional fatalities.  Of course with a sim we can just enjoy.

Welcome.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the server would be down due to the GTR2 race tonight. I could be wrong, however I believe that GTL, GTR2 and P&G run on the dedicated server but we can only run 1 at a time or it makes it unstable. It should be back on-line sometime Monday.

I hope to see you tomorrow.

Yep, there was a GTR2 race tonight so the other events will have been temporarily suspended. Should be back now tho.

Ok thanks for the info. I was afraid I was having some connection problems. Wink

If I read between the lines I guess the 275 or 250 SWB are the cars of choice for me as a newbie to GTL, but for the sake of raw speed the GTO is best? I created a first setup for the GTO last night, might just stick to the GTO and try to make it more drivable in tonight’s practice session. No more time to make setups for both. Track time is what I need!
Are the replays posted after the race? For the sake of PC performance I can leave recording replays off then. (don’t know if it hurts performance much when I leave it on though)

The relative performance of the cars is very much down to the individual driving them. I like the GTO and I don't like the 250 (bad brakes) so I'll probably take the GTO myself. A replay is available after the race, find it under the heading "replays"

2:18.5 in the 250 SWB, 2:16.5 in the GTO both just 2 laps practice with race fuel.
if the hot shoes take the 275 or SWB I will too, if most people use the GTO then same here.

I will give it a shot but I wont know for sure till some more folk come on the server.

I got 2:13.9 in the GTO but should get a sec or 2 off that if I dont screw things up again.

Just got a 2:11.604
