Hi all,

just wondered if the clever people of GPL land have got anything such as mods or addons for the Can Am cars.

What i would really like is some mirrors I can see out of  Wink

its a few days now since the 6 mths was up.

not hassling, only asking as I'm too stupid to make these myself.

ta, Paul V.

There's been an update patch for '71's in the works for months.  It includes virtual mirrors.  I've never liked such things, as realism is lost, but must admit they're vital for safe online racing in these cars.  I'm sure someone will now quickly post a set for download, at SRMZ.

There's also an addon being worked on by some of the original team.  It'll be a colourful collection, with no bearing on the car's drivability.  SRMZ is the place to look for these, and various private offerings which can now be posted.

Those members lucky enough to have downloaded the aftermarket virtual mirrors, from the address above, are now asked to return them for a full refund.  It seems, the 6 month ban on all addons has received a short extension.  After consultation and much debate, the management here have decided, anyone caught using virtual mirrors during a race, will receive a 2 place penalty. angel

i know your joking , however using virtual mirrors are not against any UKGPL rules so can be used , nowhere in the league rules does it say any addon has to be freely available .

i guess if anybody wants them they should ask privately somebody that has downloaded them .

I like originality too, but would also love the virtual mirrors for online racing..

I gave the recent Can Am fun race a miss.. and i believe it also became a crash fest.

now originality etc is a great thing, but being able to see from theCan Am cars may also inject a lot of fun into the cars and give them a real new lease of life. I can see them becoming really popular with something as simple as the mirror mod. GT's too probably.

so any idea how long the "extension" is to be Maddog?

cheers, Paul V

You may have noticed, I've been discouraged from encouraging this aid.  The complication is the colourful addon mentioned above.  I've already asked for the process to be speeded up - it's all custom stuff you know.

I suspect the mayhem you mentioned was Albi, and non-mirror related, involving 3 cars.  The mirror related will be next race. Grin  First person to see the official Mod Patch posted, please alert the masses.

add-ons for CANAMS?

There is this little known mod for GPL called F1 1967. You get 6 whole new cars that handle great and don't murder your FPS. Its fun fun fun on the right track guaranteed to make a good race......

Is that a virtual readiness? or a readiness that is virtuous in it's virtual availability?

The Can-Am update Patch is finally available, from the official Website :  http://canam71.gplworld.eu/
There will be an official announcement at SRMZ, but at this moment it's not online.

The patch contains official virtual mirrors for manual installation, and various graphics, which were incomplete when the Mod left the factory.
