Moderator's Report

Dijon is a challenging track even with the 65s!

Only in the red zone reported incidents...

Server replay time: 0h00m57s

Tristan and Clive enter T1, Tris is outside and Clive inside, Clive keeps the inside line but Tris cuts to the inside.
Server replay shows no contact but clients replay shows massive warp.
I can't say what would have happened without warp, so it is a Racing Incident.

Server replay time: 0h01m19s

Gareth follows Andreas into T5 where Andreas has to slow down a little because of the traffic ahead, Gareth seems surprised and hits Andreas rear left tire. Luckily the victim has no damage...

  • Gareth (Gareth Hall65)penalty — Blatant Rear End Shunt: Penalty 2 Places +1 red zone — 3 places lost

UKGPL Season 24 - Pro Trophy - Race 8 Dijon-Prenois (V2)

For round 8 we return to France, to Dijon-Prenois.

The Pro Drivers will have a free car choice. Drivers will have to remain in that chassis for the rest of the season, they will only be allowed to swap chassis in exceptional circumstances and only with the approval of the moderator.

There will be full moderation of lap one Red Zone and reported incidents for the rest of the race.
Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.
Full time drivers have priority access to the server until 21.00 UK time.
Please restrict your chat to a minimum!

The specific division rules for the Pro Trophy have changed as the INT division has been suspended.
Handicapping will be introduced from race three onwards and will only affect the top three drivers in the championship. The top three drivers may, at the moderator's discretion, be limited to a slower car. If handicapping is in action then handicapped drivers will be notified in the race post.

For this race the first three drivers will be "handicapped",
the intention is NOT to prevent anyone from winning the race!

Hristo cannot drive the Lotus, Ferrari or Brabham
Axel and Florian cannot drive the Lotus or Ferrari

Nice race for me with a long battle vs evil who I passed after he had a short grasstrip. The BRM was not at all easy to pass and one could go quiet deep into t1 and still get first into the sjicane...not that I made use of it very much ....2/3 out in the race I let him by instead of doing that move in t1 hoping he could pull us away from bot. I was sure I would get another chance to get by. The laptimes decreased and Bot had an off. Now it was time to chase, but Evil stopped doing more mistakes and he started to open the gap. All in all a nice battle anyway and Evil was the fastest all round. Pleased with a podium... I was in a handicapped car after all Wink.Grats to H for outstanding pace and win.

Slowly I am getting used to the idea that my races won't end in a disco and I can concentrate on some racing.

Well, when I say concentrate I think that is where I am lacking  Undecided.

Once again qually put me on the front row.
Once again I found myself on Hristo's tail and the pair of us easing a small gap to the cars behind.
Once again I found that my car was quicker in some places and Hristo was faster in others.
Once again I was happy to sit behind for a few laps and allow us to try and increase the cushion to 3rd spot.
 and
Once again I allowed my concentration to wander and I made 2 dumb and needless mistakes that allowed Hristo to escape and Tom to cruise past into 2nd spot.

It took me quite a few laps to get my composure back, fend off Tristan in his very nimble Brabham and find a way past Tom's BRM.

By this time Hristo was out of sight, and in getting past Tom I had subjected my tyres to some serious abuse  Roll Eyes so I was forced to go very gently for a couple of laps and only push hard enough to stay ahead of Tom. Once the rubber had cooled I was able to up my pace and pull away again to protect my second spot on the podium.

Grats to Hristo on a trouble free race ( again). If I can just keep my mind on the driving I might be able to make you work for your wins, but if I keep on making nooby mistakes that will never happen  lol.
Thanks to Tom for some great racing and defensive driving that made it very difficult to find a way past...it was never certain that I would be able to re-take 2nd place as that BRM was very quick on the straight.

Huh?   Huh
I am aware that we made contact in the 66's Tristan and I have apologised for that ( but I really do not see how I could have avoided that as you lost control right in front of me?). Undecided

Where did we have contact in the 65's??? I have not checked my replay yet, but I do not recall any incidents or even feeling a bump. I know that you were behind me for a few laps when I was trying to pass Tom ( King Hiro ), was it during that period of the race?

I will look at my replay this evening when I get home from work.
