Gentlemen, I present the new GT3 sprint series based on the real life Blancpain Sprint series  Smiley  I aim to use the same points system and track selection, albeit in a slightly different order. I will also use as many real life Blancpain car skins as I can find to add authenticity, though you are also free to use your own. I will upload all skins provided or found into a single zip file on my dropbox for all to use.

The first round will be at the Nurburgring GP (Short) circuit as per the real life event in July  Cool  I will run a test race next weds (maybe 2x20mins?) so people can hop in an alternate GT car and see which they prefer in a race. I would also prefer it if everyone chose a car and stuck with it for the series. Races will be 30mins long on weds eves.  I will advertise it on the Kunos site and at Core to drum up more racers.  Once you guys know what car you intend to run, let me know on here or via pm and I can put together an entry list.

The initial race calendar is as follows:-

Test race (29th June) - Venue TBC
Round 1 - Nurburgring GP (Short)  - 6th July
Round 2 - Misano  - 13th July
Round 3 - Brands Hatch - 20th July
Round 4 - Monza (E) - 27th July
Round 5 - Silverstone
Round 6 - Paul Ricard(E)
Round 7 - Spa (E)
Round 8 - Budapest
Round 9 - Nurburgring (E)
Round 10 - Barcelona

Some of these rounds are normally endurance events in the Blancpain marked with an (E). I would love to run some 1hr races for them but will be dependant on turnout and if people are willing to commit to the odd 1hr race  Undecided if not I will just run them all as half hour sprints.

Round1 poster:-

Points:-
1st = 25pts
2nd = 18
3rd = 15
4th = 12
5th = 10
6th = 8
7th = 6
8th = 4
9th = 2
10th = 1

Ta Jeff  Smiley

just tested Misano and that's fine. Bit lacking in eye candy but the track itself is good and will prove a good new challenge as not sure we have ever raced there. Just need to pick a suitable track for the test race. Was thinking Donington as such a good conversion and a good tester of GT3 cars, but it lacks that euro flavour of the Blancpain. Barcelona maybe?

Looks good - any chance of putting up a list of acceptable cars?
I quite like some the GT2's as they actually have gearsticks so would like a good choice to work from Grin

Cars will be all the GT3 range FMG...and I think I may have to include this bad boy, Who doesn't want to see one of these beasts in their mirrors?!

just tested it with a full GT3 field at Donington and Monza and it appears to fit in nicely. The interior view is a bit 1990's but externally and audibly its fantastic. I fielded 4 of them amongst a 30 car GT3 grid and they were spread out nicely in the laptimes.

Looks good to me MJ Smiley I'd like to see the odd 1hr race thrown in for good measure but please no artificial frigs like x2 tyres and fuel to force pitstops. I know you've not traditionally done this but it I personally hate it.

1 hour races should be ok for me as long as they start no later than the usual time.
10pm is starting to push it for me due to when I get up for work every day!

1 hour races would have one mandatory pitstop but no artificial fuel/tyre wear  Smiley  We can always be a little flexible on time, I personally wouldn't mind starting half hour earlier and that probably suits our +1hr euro cousins better, but open to democracy...as long as you don't demand a second referendum  Grin

Well up for this, been waiting ages to find a championship to get me back racing online.

I'll take the Nissan please.

How about Mugello for test race?

I've not raced you guys for a while so no idea on server password or any other finer details that I should know so keep me posted please.

hey Linus, good to see you back  Smiley

Mugello is a good shout, has the right combo of high speed but also twisty sections to gauge how your GT is handling.

Looking forward to it MJ!

If you are going to use the Bentley, can you post a link up before this wednesday?

For info, even though people dont like running multipliers, I was running races earlier in the year using 4x tyre wear which meant you were forced to change tyres. For 1hr long races on 1x you might be able to get away with it. Depending on AC updates changing things of course!

Happy tp do a few 1hr races but for me its more about racing with other people, having people to chase and try to beat. All depends on people being around the same times tho.

1hr is not endurance. Do 90 mins or more for endurance. Sprints in gt3 should be 30-40 mins. If u do 90 mins u need to stop for fuel I think. Not a fan of multipliers as they are just plain confusing imho, but if u are going to do multipliers better off doing fuel multiplier not tyres if the aim is to force pit stop.
