Season 30 Professionals Trophy – Round 10 – Albi

For Round 10 we go to France, to be exact to the small town of Albi in the Midi-Pyrénées region.  Racing first started on the Circuit des Planques in 1933, the pits and startline being on a short straight before the road twisted down into St.Antoine. At St.Juery the cars had to contend with an extreme hairpin bend, followed by a railway level crossing. The 5.531 mile circuit was shortened in 1951 to 1.859 miles, before being closed in 1955 following the Le Mans disaster. Racing resumed at the nearby Aerodrome in 1959 which is the circuit we now know as Albi. The Chicane du Sequestre was introduced in 1988 but we will be using the original layout as raced in 1967.

Tristan Bot already has clinched the championship, many congrats!

Won't be present tonight. Right now feel like hanging up the gloves on the GPL online tree. Sorry for the lack of commitment, just lost the fun and motivation, and dealing with too much crap in private life as well ATM.

Thanks for understanding.

Sorry to hear this news Robert but I am also thinking about another retirement from GPL for the same fun/motivation reasons.
I'm going to see the season out & decide my future in the off season.

I hope you can sort out the personal stuff, GPL is way less important imo.

Take care of yourself first Robert and give yourself as much time and space as you need.

I was happy to hear you made it to Brands, for the historical event Robert.  A chance to confirm our high speed transport is more than just fantasy, though the weather is usually good online. Roll Eyes

The chance to grab some real time wheel time, with a rather large wheel, will be coming Online sometime.  We expect completion of 55 F1.  You must try sitting behind the wheel of one, and just revving the motor.  Wishing you well . . .  balloon

Grats Roo, Clive and Dean. We had fun with the gaps once it settled down.

Robert, sorry to hear that you're suffering as you are always a star here.

Pole was a bit of a surprise. Axel & Clive were close to nicking it at the end of the session while I was testing race fuel.
Got a good start & tried to break the tow to Doni over the opening laps. After he dropped back I monitored the gap to Axel & Clive. I was holding my own so tried not to push too much but on the final lap I got a bit cocky & spun in the long T1, hitting the barrier but luckily keeping all my wheels.

Stoked to set fastest lap too to take the hat-trick Cheesy

Grats finishers, shame there were not more.
Thanks admins, cu at Brands.

Grats on a thorough victory, Roo!  Dominate is the word that comes to mind.

Good jobs by Clive and Andrew to score podiums.

Despite a pitiful race, I was quite pleased with my ride.  Sliced fully 8/10 off my previous PB in the Honda to start P4 and got a super launch off the grid to bounce both Clive and Axel.  Worked hard to stay in the breeze of Roo and that may have been my undoing.  Slipped off in the T1 complex and handled it poorly with a spin.  Shoulda managed that much, much better.  Recovered just ahead of Tris and got one back when Axel and Clive collided late in a lap.  Bungled the exit of the T1 complex shortly after to shunt off rather badly and end up behind Dean and Tris.  Closed in a bit as they squabbled but then spun in the far hairpin.  Carlos got by at that point so things were looking rather grim.  Only a moment later, I decided to retire and lick my wounds.  That worked out well, actually, as I had a pressing engagement at our local high school and the extra time to prepare was welcome.

Gentlemen,
Can I remind you that Dave Gymer provides this forum for the benefit of us all. In return he requires that we are courteous to other users. We have all had occasions where we are less than happy with an on-track incident but there is a reporting system to deal with that & no excuse for misusing the forum.
I can only apologise to Dave on behalf of the UKGPL Community that he has had to take action.

Thanks - on behalf of the Moderating team.
