Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (26 laps, 1 lap rolling, 25 laps racing)

Track: Buddh International  Download this

Cars allowed: Ford Capri Mk3 Turbo Download this

Only the following cars are to be selected. CLASS A DIV 1 '81, CLASS B DIV 2 '81, DIV 2 '80 and DIV 2 '79.

Special Notes: Rolling start procedure will be implemented for this race. See below for details.

1) When qualifying ends drivers will join the grid as usual, before the timer countdown ends.

2) At the green light the pole position driver (lead driver) will be responsible for moving off at a slow pace.

3) The remaining drivers will follow the driver in front of them forming a single line formation.

4) The lead driver will increase speed as soon as it is safe to do so. The following drivers will match the speed of the car in front of them, whilst keeping a safe distance between them.

5) The lead driver will maintain slow/average speed for the duration of the lap until approaching the final corner when he will engage the speed limiter.

6) The lead driver will maintain limiter speed (limiter may be switched off) until the start line is reached. Having crossed the start line the lead car will begin race speed.

7) Following drivers may not exceed limiter speed (lead drivers speed) or attempt any overtaking until the start line is crossed.

Car restrictions: None

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: ROLLING
Tyre wear: x2
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

A concern has been raised about cuts being a problem at this track. If during testing you are getting UNWARRANTED cuts please post here.
Thanks

Geez, what kind of morons designs these tracks?   Here we have these wonderful cars, capable of such high cornering speeds, and what do we get from the track - not one fast curve, not one!  All is 1st and 2nd gear corners  censored   It's as if they deliberatedly set out to make the most annoying layout possible..

Cheers,
Erling

the worst thing are the kerbs too high on GTL version, compare with the real version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIET2AABDOE, second point it s the tract between Turn7 and Turn8, on GTL version it s most short than real version it mean that is more difficult coming out of the  Turn7 the input on Turn8

I must be a bit weird, I actually quite like the track. And yes I have once again done some practice! I had too as it was a new track to me.  Grin

Just finished a full race practice and I have to say I have enjoyed this track a lot. True a lot of the track is 2nd/3rd gear but I like the flow thru the various turns. Anyhoo I have a bestest time of 1:56.7 in the Class A car.

I'm not aware of what the track looks like in real life so will race it as I see it.

Class B at 2:07 with hopefully room for improvement.

... now down to 2:01......

Was wondering if the track pictured in the loading screen is the right one.

Now find the right picture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddh_International_Circuit

 Cool

Still far too slow for competition... Roll Eyes

I think the picture is ok but the start/finish arrow shows the wrong direction!

Just downloaded this track and attempted to drive these beasts yet again.  Undecided

If damage cannot be repaired, then my prospects for this race, on a circuit that certainly places a restraint on the turbo power are not good.   Roll Eyes
