BEWARE : RULES FOR CHASSIS HANDICAP HAVE BEEN UPDATED :
Drivers have a free chassis choice for the first race then handicapping defined by the moderation for the leaders.

Rule changes already, now there is a surprise As an outsider to the admin team, even I'm assuming this is due to the fact that there was sufficient take-up to run both a pro & ams series & therefore the big-boys are free to squabble among themselves without us slower-types [although it still looks like a hard bunch from where I'm sitting!] getting in the way. The other effect of split grids is then presumably no need for pro chassis [seeing as there won't be any non-pro runners]. Also because there have not been any races yet, nobody is actually leading the series so far - so no need for any chassis limitations for the leaders. Hopefully this helps in a small way [& hopefully is correct; but I'll qualify this with I'm not qualified to answer!] I'll also sign off with a so we're all good Cheers, Dave.

Dave, Exactly. Last season's 65 series had two grids but one would have been sufficient on most race days. Generally I think most drivers prefer larger grids. Lapping cars (or being lapped) adds another dimension. Right up until very late the number of registrations only justified one grid. 24/25 registrations means that some people could miss a drive, so we introduced a second grid. Obviously a handicap system needed to be amended. The mod team have worked hard to organise this season, with the aim of making racing as inclusive & exciting for the whole membership.

Sorry Dave R and Billy if you were offended by my comment on the latest rule update. No offence was intended, just misplaced pre season banter. Good luck and racing to yourselves and everyone else.

For Round 5 on 04 April 2017, Road Ontario which seems to have a lot of troubles has been replaced by the new Remy and Ginetto's Road America http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=11724
