Thought I would post here about our crazy plan to visit as many UK motor racing venues as we can, and how things are progressing.

Back in April we did a weekend where we visited Donington Park on Friday, Santa Pod ( for the UK Vintage Hot Rod Association meet ) and Kings Lynn Stock Car stadium (for the UK Formula One stock car finals) on Saturday and Rockingham for the British GT and Formula 4 championship on Sunday.

Then a week ago we managed visits to Oulton Park on Saturday for the Vintage Festival, Croft  on Sunday for the BTC crashfest and a visit to Cadwell Park on the Monday for a track open day for bikes.

Highlight of the trip was Saturday evening, when we managed to arrange a meeting with  GPL legends Clive Loynes and Bernie Darwin for a meal. If there is anyone who should write a book about his adventures and exploits around motor racing then Bernie should get it down on paper.

Andy has done a better write up about these excursions on his blog at .   https://dartmoorandroid.wordpress.com/     Interspersed between his walks around Dartmoor ( which are fascinating in their own right) are descriptions  about our weekends with pics and more details.

Looks like you almost held the car on the track, but the cornfield was just too inviting. At least your co-pilot/instructor seemed unconcerned, although we could not tell if he needed fresh underwear??  lol

It was great to meet up with you, Andy and Bernie.

The restaurant could probably have done with our talking less and eating more.  The time certainly flew by.

When I gave my wife a report of the goings on, she considered that she had had a narrow escape!!   Roll Eyes
