We have now published the first official UKGTL Skinning Instructions.

If you would like to used skinned cars in the UKGTL Ladder, please download and read the above instructions, and then post links to your finished skins in this thread. Please do not PM them to me! Please make sure that they pass the checklist in the instructions before posting here!

You do not need to package the files as a ModMan archive, since I will be repackaging them as a collection anyway.

We will be producing regular updates to the pack; continue to post new skins and updates in this thread; I shall post new deadlines from time to time.

Thread locked while I build pack version 1.0.

For the most part the instructions have been followed closely. I've only had to take out 3 files: the GT40 wheels (which Matt told me about up front), and .aud files from Minton's Alfa and Elan.

Okay, the pack is now available from the downloads page. Any skins posted now will go into the first refresh in a few weeks.

If the number of skins grows significantly I will split the pack up by class. Right now it's not large enough to warrant doing that.

I'd like us to use the Ladder race on Thursday as the pack's first outing, unless there are objections. I'll post something in that race's announcement thread about it.

Can someone clarify something for me please?

I've got a range of 76 skins I'd like to include in the pack for the NGTL. Currently 4 or 5 cars with each members name on the window. I think the instructions may not allow this though in that there is one skin for each type of car alone.

So, for example; I would like the NGTL 911 to be available with a unique number for each driver. 200812 for Don, 200832 for Mark, 200852 for me and 200872 for Pops. I'd move on to 200813, 200833, 200853, 200873 for the Escort, and 200814, 200834 etc for the Capri.

I suspect what is required though is just one skin for all drivers, with all drivers using the same car design on a track should they all have made the same choice of car. I.e. one 911 numbered 200810, one Escort numbered 200811, one Capri numbered 200812 etc...

Correct?

Correct?

Correct.

The GTR skins use a disproportionate amount of SRou's bandwidth so we've made this 'one skin per car model' rule to keep the size of the pack down.

I love the driver names on the windows but that rule also keeps my overheads down, so no big deal  Wink

NGTL 76 Skins are finished. An Escort, both BMW's, a 911 and a Capri. Essentially the same as the skins done a while back and mentioned in this thread except for the inclusion of the simracing banner and number decal on the doors.

I don't have huge bandwidth Dave so I'll PM you a link to the zip with all of it in (8Mb) in a sec. Ta.

Just completed an TC Alfa for the NGTL.

It's here.

Sadly, that'll be the last skin for us for a good while as I won't have the time in the coming weeks. Just a FYI incase you're considering another GTL skin pack release. Cheers.
