I wanted to know, a 90 minute run is too much for me,so I did not register at the Grand Prix

Hi folks,

I did not join online racing yet but I am looking forward to do so Cheesy. I am not sure how many races I can join. But I will try to take part in as many as I can. However, I will test today how good GPL is running with the 60fpsV2newmod on my slightly old computer. Till now I never experienced problems but I was running with 36fps only.

As I never joined an online race yet I have a few newbie questions. I checked IGOR already and there is a server online for Kyalami already. So I guess I can test beforehand if I can connect and everything works fine?
Furthermore, apart from applying 60fpsV2newmod, driving in a gentlemanly behaviour and having a stable internet connection, is there anything else I should know beforehand? How do you chat/communicate before and during events?
I already read the regulations and the stuff about the token system etc...

Hallo Markus

Welcome to UKGPL - it seems you have allready informed yourself about the rules and racing behaviour here. thumbup1
Any questions - just ask Wink

A good idea to start with the 67s Sprint season

We just started to use teamspeak and Dave has set up a permanent UKGPL TS Server where you can join,
atm we are a mix of english and german speaking drivers in TS and have lots of fun together.

At the top of each race post you see the TS data and the PW used for the race.

A good idea to use the UKGPL training servers at igor to get used to the feeling.

Maybe you can give David a hint of your speed (Rank) so he can classify you as Works or Privateer

Thanks for the info Cookie,

you might remember me from srmz as Markus_Gras (Linux related threads). I will setup teamspeak and hopefully I will be ready with it on Sunday (I am travelling from Thursday to Sunday afternoon...).

I am driving GPL since last November and I concentrated on the original Papy tracks to learn the sim. Current GPLRank handicap: -33.621 (mostly driven with the Eagle). I think I still have to learn some things with regards to consistency for a 50min race. We will see...

Are you now using linux for racing?

I had problems with pulseaudio - 2x  audio devices for GPL and TS just not lockable...

PS

I just saw that the server at iGOR with Kyalami is GPLBrasil, yes the Brasilian server is also for this event

But if you join a server and get flashes every 3-5 seconds be aware you have wrong fps set!

and if you get a timeout - control if you have 60fpsV2newmod set in GEM+
