Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 90s

Brian Kerr moves off on the pace lap ahead of FreQ who qualified in front of him.

Regardless of what order they should have been in, FreQ should not have overtaken during the pace lap - he squeezed through a very tight gap and could easily have caused an accident and chain reaction.

Brian of course should not have pulled away ahead of FreQ.

  • Joss (FreQ)caution — overtaking on the pace lap
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded
  • Kerr (Brian Kerr)caution — overtaking on the pace lap
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 220s

At the end of the pace lap, the leading five cars join the back of the pit limiter snake as normal, but TrueTom chooses exactly the wrong moment to suddenly speed up as he warms his rears and cannot slow down again before piling into the back of Baracus, who spins off.

Ruskus then passes TT as the latter slows down and the field gradually reassembles itself into the correct order following a rather risky spin rejoin from Baracus.

The incident as a whole has a fairly large cost in time to Aagramn in 8th and everyone behind him, and risked a much more serious chain reaction incident.

The last one of the season!    I'm sure this will be a good one with a few positions still to be decided in championship table. Looking forward to it.

I might switch to the  MC12 for this race, just to get a feel how it is over a race, as I'm gonna use it for the SUper Endurance. Switching has nothing to do with the car/track combo, as all those hairpins and slow corners are only bad for the MC12. It needs fast corners to excell.

Decided to go with the Lister tonight for a change. It was not the only thing that changed tonight.

Qualified 4th with SPG on pole with a great time.

Put pressure on Freq for first few laps and was soon given a chance to pass.

Tried everthing to catch SPG who was pushing Mark for nearly the entire race, but I could not. I was a 1.5secs behind for nearly the whole race, just could not catch SBG ahead or Mark for that matter. They made no mistakes at all.

Well driven both of you!

That was my first race with the Lister and it seemed good. I was carrying a bit of ballast which might have made it feel different. I was struggling to get the car to turn in at bits, but on the whole it's a fast car.

Intense last race. Was a bit shocked to have 75kg. So with a MC12 at Zhuhai with 75 kg was a real struggle. Was 0,5s slower than my PB, which wasn't bad, but my racepace was awefull. My best racelap was next to last  Roll Eyes.

Had a cracking race with Aagramn and Simon. 2 Buzzing Lister at my rear, and I was struggling. Had to defend hard a few times but in the end Aagramn got me before the tight hairpin.

Looking at the points scored now, I think it's a tie between me and FreQ Grin

Grats Mark on the win and SBG on the pole  Grin

That was hard work. Lister with 50kg success ballast was so hard compared to the Endurance. Couldn't get anywhere near my Endurance lap times. Anyway with such a small grid didn't matter too much.

Had a battle with Steve to start with and Jonzo slowly heading backwards before he quit out. After Steve made some mistakes I was away and up to the battle with Aagramn and Jeff. Then it was a battle with the 3 of us for quite a while with Jeff desperately trying to hang on in the very heavy MC12.

Well done to Team Shark on 1-2-3 in the championship and I'm sure that should be Jeff winning despite FreQ being at the top. Jeff has 3 wins compared to none of FreQ so not sure why FreQ is top other than he has compete in more races, but that doesn't seem fair. Anyway let's call them both winners and no-one will lose. Smiley

Anyone know what happened on the S/F straight of the formation lap? There was someone doing a 90 degree re-entry onto the circuit and cars in a complete mess with huge gaps and avoiding actions of other people.

I tapped Barracus.  Sad  Sorry, Barra, the coloumn just suddenly slowed down. I went right but I was too late to do it without hitting you. Sorry again.  Sad   I think the coloumn slowed down too sudden and it was too late in dropping the speed towards the pit-limiter speed level. Anyway, as this happened just before the start commenced, Barracus had no time to recover. I didn't want to start a race in front of him and waited. So did Ruskus and all the drivers behind which is a nice move.  Smiley

Barracus slowly increased the gap and since we made no big mistakes the gap slowly grew like a bread before baking, at the end it was about 10 seconds. The same gap was forming behind, towards Ruskus, again about 10 seconds at the end. You can guess it was a lonely race. The only car I met was Steve's in the middle of the road. Twice.  Wink

Grats to everybody everywhere and thanks to the MODERATORS and STAFF for a great season.  yes

Not sure about the formation it all happened so quick but its fair to say I am probably to blame on 2 counts. First it caught me out when the guys infront slowed much more suddenly than I have experienced before, so I had to brake hard and got tapped which sent me off onto the grass. Then I thought it looked like people were waiting for me to go back infront but maybe I was mistaken in thinking this!? Anyway my instinct was to pull into the gap and try to catch the guys still on the limiter before the line and I could see others still pretty close to me. Then I went on the limiter too early - came off again and it was too late to put it back on so I had a bit of an unfair run to the car infront, so I just eased it back for that first lap to not take any advantage. Sorry if this was against etiquette, but to me it looked like that was what was being suggested to do from 'car body language'.

Hard racing all the way after that, mainly with FreQ - we were pressuring each other into mistakes and making some nice passes on each other, but FreQ got a better score than me so ended up in his rightful position again and I lost the concentration needed to mount another attack.

For me a nice way to end the season - i.e. no engine blow out Cheesy

No idea what's happening with the championship! I'm sure Dave has mentioned before that it's the amount of races that decides it....but that isn't fair when another driver has won 3 times to your none!
Either way I'm happy, as if Jeff wins, I'll move up one place in the GT2 drivers champ - me and Midders are tied on 40 points, but I've won twice! Grin

Anyway, qualy was pretty much as fast as I could go, with Mark pipping me at the end  Shocked
In the race I started off scrappy, made a few mistakes and Brian got through. After that I slowly dropped back and had my first proper battle with Bara for eons. We used to have these every other race, why's it been so long?!  laugh

Thought I was staring at 5th place for a while, only to come back at him and get back past! I think your tyres were shot mate, I certainly wasn't going faster!

Congrats to the top 3, especially the 2 were are not used to seeing there - great win Mark!  angel

PS: Did something odd happen on the formation lap Brian? For a minute I thought you'd pipped me at the last minute in qually when you went in front of me, lol.

Cheers all

Hope my second attempt, in six seasons, leading out a warm up lap did not cause problems Embarrassed.

Great fun that. Made early slip and Mark was through. Then hounded him for the remaining 36 minutes with no ruddy joy Smiley. As Brian kindly said, we both drove virtually error free races so hats off to Mark for a fantastic win Cool.

I'm a little sad that the lowish turnouts for GT1 sprints may mean its future is in doubt. Totally understandable but this series has consistently provided higher quality racing than any other series. A real credit to the chaps involved, ta.

Congrats to Team Teeth, Shark, JR and FreQ for the clean sweep thumbup2. And we can't be too unhappy to grab another podium for the KC boys.
