Moderator's ReportLap 2: Michael is slow out of Stowe, Joe Bardsley gets alongside on the straight but Michael moves right over on Joe, past the middle of the track. They bang wheels, spinning Joe into Michael. Unnecessary really, hence the penalty
Lap 2: as Michael Boylan is recovering Glen catches him and gets along the outside up to Abbey. Michael holds the inside line and the two are side by side but Glen brakes a touch later and lighter and tries to go round as normal. This wasn't really on as a move, and would have been a stronger penalty if Michael hadn't been getting up to speed, making it look to Glen like he was catching a much slower car.

Moderator's ReportNeil and Roy Bateman had a great battle which leaves Neil close behind over the start-finish line. Neil gets off the line but brakes quite late for Paddock Hill Bend and slides into Roy. Outbranking Roy isn't really on from there and Neil twitches a bit and catches Roy's right rear, spinning Roy. Roy lost a place to Adam G who got caught but span right round and carried on, Michael Boylan arrives (no yellows) and collects Neil as he recovers, Neil lose 3 more places. Oops. Heat of the battle stuff but still an avoidable one if Neil had braked a bit earlier.
The first of a couple of similar Surtees incidents. Baz slides wide a bit, but is still pretty much on the line, you can go in quite wide through there. That's probably what encourages people to have a look down the inside, but there's never a gap when you get there. That's pretty much what happens here, James clipping Baz's right rear. Looked at from Baz West's cockpit you can see he's got the line. Baz wasn't happy about it, James reckoned baz had slide wide and carried on.
Glen makes a move from a long way back at Surtees as David Few takes a widish line. Again, the gap's not really there and they come together wheel to wheel, spinning David. Glen waits and they both lose a place.

Moderator's ReportThis is on the run down to T1 Lap 1, Michael switches sides behind Baz West but gets caught out by Baz braking. Although Michael stays to the right and ends up just alongside Baz's rear wheel as he brakes, it's still way too close and the "warp wake" from his car spins Baz.
I don't know why everyone picks on Baz West, he seems to get taken out twice a race! This is a good example of GPL's blind spots I think, Joe gets a good run on Baz out of the previous corner and assumes Baz knows he's there, but a quick look from Baz's cockpit view, even right back to the apex of the previous corner, and Joe is nowhere to be seen til after Baz has turned in. Joe obviously thinks that Baz can see him, and has just about done enough to earn some space on the inside, hence:
Glen brakes a bit too late for T1 following Dave Gymer and just touches him towards the end of the braking zone, enough to send them both spinning. Glen waits for Dave, but it's still a rear ender.
Michael and Glen Field are side by side through the double T1, but Glen gets ahead and is clear before the next corner. Michael stays out on the inside, brakes late and just T-bones Glen, who had left room on the inside. This just looks like an over-ambitious move trying to get a place straight back, and Michael carries on.

Moderator's ReportRoy Bateman v Dave Gee, Roy Bateman v Michael Boylan
This is lap 1, with the field still bunched up a bit. Dave Gymer has to back off a bit early for the first chicane as Pete Allnutt rejoins the track ahead of him, Michael is caught out and rear-ends Dave.
