Sadly, due to upcoming holidays, I'm missing both upcoming rounds. Its a pity cause it was such an enjoyable season and such an enjoyable series.
Have fun all.

Joined late , no password (some one cant spell tyre ) no set up . started last , great first lap got up to 4th place going through T1 and held on for a whole lap! then Syd draughted by me but stuffed it at the hairpin and let me re pass , up to the esses I ran out of talent exit stage left and get stuck on a tyre . after the s/r (I missed the pits first time around ) and the car was near undrivable , I had more spins than Massa on juke box jury , never thought to do another s/r thought it was me , after being lapped by all and his dog and getting dizzy from the gyrations I decided to quit . Not exactly been a succesful season from me due I suppose to a lack of pracky time End of term report , must do better Enjoyed watching you guys though if nothing else , thanks for the racing

Got back from holiday a day early and realised I could be up for a race which I was supposed to miss. After being jammed in traffic at the coast, it felt good driving GPL on the limit and that's just what I needed to blow off my steam - and it felt pretty bloody good. Made a PB in quali by a mile and got overtaken by Paul's Ferrari before T1. Followed him on for two laps and then overtook him in the braking area of T1. Paul then followed me and then I wen't too hot into T1 (bloody corner, I could push anywhere else but I was very unsecure there) so we went side by side through the right left flick between the polos - great stuff Paul. I then followed Paul until he spun at Peralta and dropped back. From there, I managed to build a second per lap on Clive and was pretty sure I was safe to go to the end. Pity for Paul as I enjoyed our battle which would go on until the very end of race I'm sure. It was good to get these points and it will helpo in my battle for second position on the table with Syd. If my math is correct now, Syd has to go for second place in Oulton, which I will miss and its a 2L track definitelly. Grats to Clive for securing a baby Brabham 1-2 win

My chances of success hinged on getting an inside slot on the grid that was far enough forward to let me fire the mighty BRM power plant of the Lotus 43 at T1 and let the rest of you sort yourselves out behind me. Failed on both counts; I was too far back on the outside and wasn't really sure that I had the track to myself until nobody hit me at T3. My last desperate attempt at the low 52s that I have managed in the past was thwarted by a debate about Burt's car that I started reading on the approach to T3. In puka league races it would be nice if people could wait until the little man with the flag has buggered off. I must commend both Paul and Phil for their efforts in avoiding the lumbering Lotus at mid-corner. Not sure how close Paul was on one occasion but it seemed that my right mirror was just all red. PS If Burt wants to swap his Cooper for my Lotus at Oulton then I shall be all ears.

would swap him for my ferrari too I admire your patience Bernie; you've wrestled that Ferrari all season without moaning about it and its definitely difficult to drive.

I was having to drive on the limit to be on Kruger's pace and exceeded my performance envelope a few times That was the story of the race for me, I was quick but had too many mistakes at a circuit I have ever got on with. So 3rd is not bad all thing considered. Grats to Kruger and Clive @Bernie and Rob - the smaller cars are easier to drive and finish the race with. I think the car allocation needs looking at to give you guys more fun. paul

hmm well since some of you guys are from BREASTS league, I like the way it worked there. Even tho it was Cooper again! :/
Do like the Brabham BT19/BT11 which i proved few weeks ago in the fun race at watkins.

Being a sucker for punishment, and just to see how bad/slow Burt's Cooper 66 was, I tried it in Thursday nights Breasts race at Zandvoort. Well, what can I say......Fiddled with the setup and gear ratios and....until I cooked the left side tyres, (which was a result of too few laps testing) the thing was fast enough to be amongst the medals. I have to admit that when I first drove it, the default setting was just atrocious and ( for me at least) virtually undrivable!! but after just a few deft clouts with a very large spanner it started to feel quite positive. Fast enough to keep me in 3rd position until the tyres screamed "enough" and decided to plough furrows in the sand. Jesting aside, I take Paul's point though, that on most circuits the smaller cars have the upper hand and the current car allocation does seem to require some sort of review. Whether we race as two seperate classes on one grid or alternate barges and hooligan races is something to be discussed. In fairness, I dont think anyone really knew how these cars would pan out once the alien horde got their tentacles on them and started winning races in the Mclaren or the lethargic Lotus. In fact I think a lot of us thought that the 2 litres would be struggling more than they are. BTW if Burt wants my setup he can send the usual brown envelope.................

I used to enjoy the old pitstops we did with UKGPL. With 66mod and the huge choice of cars it will be difficult to handicap chassis, but handicapping the driver and giving a free chassis choice ( that you stick with the whole season ) would be fairly easy to do. eg...lorenzo and kruger get a 2x 20sec pitstops paul

Only 20 secs ? ? That would just be cruel. Because, then we would be just close enough to actually see them cross the line in front of us. At least as things stand they have the decency to do their winning beyond our gaze!!!!
