Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 410s

Legzy spins as a result of running curb/gravel. His car stays on the tarmac and he tries to correct it. Bara is off teh track slightly and Matt Rowe tries to get between the spinning car of Legzy and Bara.

It wasn't a nice looking save from Legzy, but it points more towards a racing incident, as Legzy wasn't rejoining the track, but trying to make out the best of his spin.

Next time try to flick it towards the outside of the track.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1953s

Tony is about to get lapped by Dan. When Dan tries to lap him there is contact and Tony spins off the track.
Never lift off or suddenly brake when there is a car right behind you about to lap. Keep to your normal racing line/pace and use headlights to indicate that you're aware of traffic behind.

The lapping traffic must also not follow lapped traffic too closely, there is a reason why they are getting lapped, and the speed difference can be quite big, so try not to slipstream too much when lapping.

  • Wiltshire Tonyadvice — Don't lift off or brake when being lapped

Friends Romans Countrymen, lend me your ears.
I will be attempting this one from a friends house, I have never yet failed to join from his network
I have twice been unable to join from home. Once in GTL, and then again for the WestWood P&G race.
and at the Ring I lost connection after lap one.
Common factor is the server, and my home connection.

It is only a problem when joining a busy race with 20+ already in.
I have so far always been able to join UkGTR2 races, but I have always got in early, so maybe
that is just the reason why.

I power cycle the modem to get another IP, I reboot the PC, nothing seems to help, It just sits there
at the password box for a while then the green tick and red cross come back, eventually it says"Game is full"
so others are able to join. The conn is BT, and has always been fairly solid in the past, I have not suffered
the CTDs and dropped conns that others have.

I have to sort this, or I will not be able to do any more races, I can't spend hours practicing and testing
stuff only to not be able to join the race! the stress is too much  Sad

Any help is much appreciated.

PC is Core2 Duo 6750, 4 gig RAM, 8800GT, Vista Home Prem 64 bit.
Bt Home Hub, from 1 gig LAN.

I've been getting that too, but during random midweek practice sessions mostly. But I've found that just clicking the cross, then attempting another rejoin usually does the trick. Also try pressing 'enter' when you've typed the password, or clicking 'the tick' if you normally press enter. I'm sure you've probably tried all that already. Also, might be worth joining a public server if you have problems, then trying ours again. Last resort, would be to not come on the pre-race practice server on race night, practice offline then join the real event. Hope you get it sorted.

Ta for that Legz.
Yep I tried all the variations on hit return/click the tick, rejoin etc
However, your suggestion about don't join the pre race prac may hold oil (or water, or petrol come to that)
Goes along with something Phill Gill once said about the server knowing about you
and therfore won't allow multi logins, or it's confused and thinks it's a multi login.
In both cases when I have been unable to log in I have joined a public race then
dropped out and tried to join the UKGTx one, and it has still failed.
I will be a stealthy joiner next race  Smiley

Also Matt check that another server hasn't popped up in the list as your typing in the password coz if it does it moves you off the the server you want, its got me a few times and i end up on the wrong track.
