Before any decision can be made on whether, or not, Clermont-Ferrand 65 can be used next season we need to check whether the mass disco was a server or track issue.
A bit short notice but we have arranged a joint race with BREASTS (don't get too excited that's British Racing Enthusiasts And Selected Tourists Society to you and me) this Wednesday 5 August.
The more that can make it the better - if it does all go tits up I'm sure Numpty will have something feisty in his chest he can pull out as a contingency race.

Please be in IGOR BREASTS chatroom by 8:50 p.m.
(You will need to set up a channel called #breasts)
IGOR and Race passwords: no race password

Server 6.ukgpl
IP address 80.5.200.198

Race date = 05-08-2009, 9pm
Track =  Clermont-Ferrand 65
Variant = 65mod
Damage Model = Intermediate
Qually time = 30 minutes.
Race length = Int-Short (6 laps)

Chassis assignments: any chassis you like

I know it reads Charade above but it is definately Clermont-Ferrand 65 as previously posted, details on the old race thread https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6592.0

PLEASE CHECK YOU ARE RUNNING 36FPS (not 60) BEFORE JOINING THE SERVER

Firstly, many thanks to Clive L for letting us appropriate BREASTS regular Wednesday night race.

Looks like it all went smoothly this time, if we do run it I think we will have to retitle the event The Mike Beattie Gala - 3.18.927   I Am Not Worthy
There was a large spectrum of times with myself being the rump. That said I like this track, just need to put in some practice time.
The race got better and better for me as I started to pick up the track, was feeling comfortable towards the end when I noticed Peter had attached rockets to his car and was closing rapidly. Close call but the short race saved me.

BTW Gerard, if you decide to join us for the 65's next season sign for the Amateurs not the Novices  Wink

Absolutely loved that!  angel

Had great fun trying to catch gerard enough to make a move while holding off Border reiver  Smiley
Rob fell off at the downhill hairpin on about the 3rd lap, was interesting to round the corner and meet a car coming the other way down the banking  Grin
Having struggled up close to Gerard by the 5th lap I messed up and span, this lost me about 8 seconds or so and ruined my chance at challenging for 2nd Sad

Very well raced guys thumbup1
And possibly an apology to Tif, I saw you spin off after a minor mistake by me and assume you were taking avoiding action  Embarrassed Sorry about that  ninja

Big well done to Mike and Gerard considering they were in T77's!  Shocked And indeed to everyone else as it would appear that most of the starters finished  Cool

It has been a nice race for me, and congratulations to mike who did amazing times.
I had the pressure with the honda on my mirrors, so i drove not to make mistakes, hoping he would do one (sorry  Smiley )
Finishing second less than 10sec behind mike is a satisfaction.

Thank you for the race
I'll see witch championship i'll do next year, but you'll see me again at least for fun events!

Cheers guys

I do like the longer tracks, Solitude is another fav of mine, and ofcourse my local venue of Dundrod 1950.

With my recent poor finishing record I want to make this a 100% run and almost achieved that, but for a spin at the 90 left after the fast ascent from the bottom of the circuit on Lap 5

Had a scare with 5 mins to go in qually, had just pulled out for a final race fuel run when I got the dreaded Screen Lock-Screaming Engine syndrome. It turns out my wife decided to d/l the latest iTunes up-date and clogged the broadband. Had to hit the PC Reset button and just made it back into Qually ( it even said Mutating in iGor - there were a few 4 letter words at that point). My better half has now been instructed not to do that again or a certain laptop will being taking flying lessons  Wink

Grats to all who took part. It's a fun track, but I would warn that it's almost impossible to pass, unless the car in front makes a mistake.

Pleased to see you had a good race this time Gerard.  Hope to see you in the Amateurs Divison next season (our faster 65 division Wink)

Seismologists may have noticed a small tremor in the London area at around 9.20pm which was caused by my scream after I set my best ever sector times during my qually lap & then promptly spun at the final corner death Had a couple of silly spins during the race too but still thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of running at this track. As Mike said, tricky to overtake but still a circuit I'd welcome in the schedule occasionally. Anyway congratulations to Mike & the podium and glad to see the server held firm this time.
