In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

euro

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Tuesday night Wink).

All members welcome.

Grid/server capacity: 28

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (35 laps = ~70mins)

Track: MUGELLO Download here

Cars allowed: Porsche 935 Download here, Porsche 934 Download here, BMW CSL GR.5 & Turbo Download here, Porsche 911 RSR, Ford Escort RS2000, Renault Alpine 110, Porsche 914-6

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: ON
Fuel consumption: 2x

Server: UKGTL REPLI-race
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page
(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Guy's, the tyre wear issue remains, as the mod author has disappeared and the tyre wear physics author is not taking pm's nor responding to post's  Huh

So it's up to you. For this season's racing do you want tyre wear on or off ? your call. Please vote using the poll provided at the beginning of this thread.

I keep meaning to do a racelength test to see just how bad the tyres get on the 935. Anyone else also fancy trying this?

Yes the server is up and running. Look for game name UKGTL REPLI-race

It will not be running on other series race nights, so that's just tonight now.

Shocked Mother of god that Beemer is quick, I'm even faster in it than the 935! Engine is very fragile though!  Cheesy
Not tried the 934 yet, but fastest time in the 935 is a 1.59 and a 1.58 in the beemer turbo.

What do you mean by the engine being fragile? I am about to choose the turbo BMW (it sounds soooo good... ) so I would like to know more about that.

What ever you do don't race the beemer with max revs and then proceed to rev its ass off, it'll blow!

Thanks for the times Tony.
