For those of us desperate for their GPL fix over the season break we have organised a few fun races as follows;
1) Mods and Rockers - 65's - Mosport - 16/2/10 (Tues)
2) Spec Race - 65's - Monaco - 21/2/10 (Sun)
3) Grads Warm Up - 67's - Mexico - 28/2/10 (Sun)
4) Blind Date - 65's - Watkins Glen - 9/3/10 (Tues)
5) Iron Man Endurance - 69's - Silverstone - 16/3/10 (Tues)

If it transpires there is not enough interest to run decent grids then we’ll cut the schedule short. Races will start at 9pm, Int-Long (excepting the endurance and team races which will be PRO), 30 mins qually, and open to all-comers. Race announcements will be posted prior to each event.

Race schedule subject to confirmation of the Season 19 start date

You guys mostly race on Sundays or other days? Smiley
Wanted to join this for ages but never got to it. Might be I'll ditch iR alltogether if I get my fix here. Shhhh, Legends, don't tell Pops. Tongue

Tried the 2004 GPL demo - is this the thing to start from or did I do a total shot in the dark? Where and how do I buy the game and all the rest? Rookie stuff tips would be nice - I'm sure you have a pile of info stored somewhere. Smiley

TT

Erm, found some stuff, so just ignore me for now, I'll go stand in a corner. Tongue

Welcome Truetom Grin

I'm sure you will get more than your fix of racing here and all the help and advice you can handle ( some of it good, some of it..erm not so good Roll Eyes ) but all offered with the best intentions.

UKGPL race 67's on Sundays ( these are the original cars and prolly the hardest to master)

Alternate Tuesdays are 65's ( definitely the easiest to drive) and with a "Novices" class for beginners and an "Amateurs" class for those who are faster there is plenty of opportunity to find some close racing.

The other alternate Tuesday ( if that makes sense!!) we run 66's which are somewhere in between and offer a huge choice of cars.

Add to that a smattering of "fun" races and you are fully occupied....and all for a fraction of the cost of iRacing?

You will probably need a GPL disc look on e-bay, should cost about £5-6. Then download the GPL installer ( the location is somewhere on the UKGPL website i think) . Then start asking questions about updates and patches to enhance your enjoyment...what could be simpler  Roll Eyes Grin Grin
look forward to seeing you on the grid Tom.

Well, hardest part might be finding / getting the disc. Some companies in UK didn't update to EU enlargement yet... Tongue Will see how it goes. In the mean time: is 2004 GPL demo the right thing to train on? Smiley

Yes Tom, the demo is fine for training with the 67's. If I remember, it gives you the Watkins Glen circuit? which is a good circuit to learn on.
I believe there is way of adding the circuits etc to the demo, but not sure if that is "allowed".  lol

Not sure if you can add the 65 and 66 cars to the demo, but I'm sure someone will soon advise on that. Grin
