what the hell happened to the starting grid Angry  Qualy 11th, on grid another car appears to land ontop of me??,,,,then my car jumps back to 20th place.  I saw Pedro also in wrong slot and try to regain his position on warm up lap so followed thru, then got second thought after Jamera got the hump...hope thats not why you nerfed me off?...then after 1st lap got a stop N go penalty....wtf Angry  Rejoined about a minute behind every one.
IS there a standard procedure when something like that happens?..ie can we get back to our proper grid place or do we have to stay at back?

caught my way back to 14th and had great several lap chase with paul willier until we got along side each other and a little side contact sent me sliding off unfortunately, tyres shredded so stopped for new boots then drove like a bat outta hell, caught 14th again on very last turn but he pipped me. :'(

Car felt great and enjoyed a great run other than that above. Shame no points Sad

Bit messy but enjoyed that nevertheless.

Love the track and had a sweet 550 set-up so was looking forward to the tussle. Qualified 5th with a PB of 1:35.9. Amazing a couple of you got into the 1:34's.

Locustus seemed to exit the 1st/2nd corner sweep slightly slower than me on the initial lap and I got a nose ahead coming to the first corner. Credit to him for holding firm though and making it back up under braking. An overtaking attempt between 2nd and 3rd was happening at teh same time with teh result that I had little room to brake. Managed to avoid everyone but slowed up and everyone got away. Real shame!

Span exiting the last corner further in and waited for a few cars to pass before turning round and then moving off the start/finish racing line to get out of the way. Unfortunately Fozz thought I was staying put and also moved off the line and into me. Gutted for you, one of those super quick calls you've got to make. Somehow the rear wing was still attached but I've a horrible feeling you weren't so lucky Fozz.

Found myself in about 17th (usual story then Wink) but fought back up to 9th. Put the hammer down as hard as I could and was taking a second a lap out of 8th place but with only 10 mins to go and 14 secs to make up it never quite happened.

Really enjoyed it. It felt bizarre compared to GTL- like I was driving with fast forward on. Happily I didn't find it difficult to switch between the two games though, hopefully everyone else is finding the same because teh two compliment each other really well  Smiley

 What can I say.

Lost connection & couldn't get back in in timt to get a quali in.

Started on the grid & was sitting in someone elses car!

reversed back out of them & got a stop go penalty!

It unfortunately was all down hill after that!

Decided to leave & watched the race. Good struggle between Greg & Mo!

Is there any trophy for coming last every race?!?

Cheers,

Bugger mate, what a time to get it !!

Qualed 7th, ended up in 6th on the grid.  Really don't know what happened with the grid placings.
Race started steadily enough, soon up to 4th following Blaz round.  Blaz then hits a stationary backmarker, Loc has 1 fps and I'm up to 2nd.
Spent the next few laps in no mans land quiet happily.
Pedro then catches and passes me, but I keep the gap to about 2 secs.
Mo then catches up and we have one hell of a battle for the last few laps.
Boy was that hard work.  I think there was 1.5 secs between the three of us at the finish.
Amazing finish to a very intense race, don't know if I can keep this up all season.

Lol you guys must really hate me, after Oschers Enduro where everyone was bashing me up the rear, this race everyone was spinning infront of me. I had a bad qualify, only 1 sec quicker than my race pace, which saw me start 4th (ish) from last.

There was some crazyness with loads of people overtaking on warmup lap, and some people waiting for other to rejoin the track, i typed "go" to try and get the people infront of me going, lookilly by the time of the line there didn't seem to be any large gaps. I was taking over a car a lap coming up the hairpin for quite a while, until I came across Rich_A (I was 11th by that time) who I was slowly reeling in. Then on the S/F line I see loads of smoke and a bad spin for PaulW (dunno how that started, certainly I'm not blaming him for what happened to me), swerved to try and avoid but BANG! hit him at great speed sending us off in different directions. Tried to spin turn myself again quickly as I was pretty sure I was safe behind me and shafted it doing a near full 360, then had to wait for some traffic to re-join (semi) safely. I noticed quickly that my car was now an understearing monster, I span again while figuring out how to drive this strange beast, and after that I was using oodles of power to get the thing rotated in the corners, the first complex of corners was really hard, taking me a good 3 laps to get sorted out.

After that my fate was pretty much sealed, my car was not feeling so well, and other people kept spinning infront of me bashing me down the ranks further (I was last at one point), just making it through the last few laps having destroyed my rear tires firmly with using the power to rotate the car.  Finished a semi respectable 13th(ish) tho so maybe i get a point or two? think I should get effort points at least :-)

I've never worked so hard to get so little, but it wasn't such a bad experience, I've never driven round car problems before as the 360 I usually pilot can take virtually any prang and cary on regardless. I'm glad I wore my base layer today, coz its soaked up some major sweat from that effort!

Thanks guys for the race, Sorry to PaulW for hitting you so hard, not your fault at all, I should probably have slowed down more, but I didn't really have time to think.

Enna next (wahey!)

Note:

Seems that I've made a major mistake (rule broken) trying to regain my starting position during formation lap. I qualified 5th but on grid GTR decided to place me on #22 (together with some other driver). I've returned to the garage and back on grid hoping to get my proper position - without luck. It was impossible for me to ask on a quick chat for instructions as formation lap begun. I have advanced to position 10 and remained there for the rest of the formation lap, as I have noticed other drivers being surprised by my maneuver. I guess custom is a man's second nature - in my home league this is the proper way (regaining position). I understand - ignorantia iuris nocet - but hopefully moderators will consider my +5 actual starting position being an adequate penalty Cheesy

Oh my what a great race! One of my best on UKGTR so far. I qualified fifth, not great as my qualification lap was +1s slower than my PB (btw great time Jon!). After already mentioned formation lap, I have started quite slow, warming tires and trying to pass drivers that made cold-tire mistakes without hitting them.

As the tires got warm, I begun to attack, increasing my peace from lap to lap. Incredible about this race was that almost 99% of the time there was a fight - no time to get lazy and spin without reason Smiley

Some most memorable battles were with Luis Branco (I just can't wait to see the replay of our high speed side by side cornering!), Blaz Potokar, Truetom and Greg - who was gaining time on every single corner but T1 and chicane.

Last four laps were devoted to keeping my concentration high. I will never, but NEVER again have a large coffee just before race.

same here Pedro, i tried typing 'whats happening?/what do i do' after Jamera said 'wtf', i slowed down and went wide to let them back through but Jamera whether thru outrage or accident punted me off anyway. Not blaming anyone, it was just a complete balls up with the grid places...i presumed it would be natural to get your original place back on the warm up lap (unless you spin off), and saw Pedro doing likewise so thought it was legal Huh so i apologise to anyone i overtook at the beginning. I didnt gain anything as i got instant stop'n'go penalty :'(
Nearly caught you at the race end there Jamera...you must have crossed the line about a 10th of a sec in front Grin

oops posted same time as you then Jamera, no worries mate, i guess i was in wrong but didnt know what to do, was trying to type as i slowed.

Steady race for me. There seemed to be a few off's that left me with a 4 sec advantage after first lap. Just had to keep it together after that.Though It was going to be a tough battle with Mo in the race as his sector times were faster in qually and fastest lap was half a second or so quicker in the race but on the first lap could just see his car drift onto the sandpit at the first bend.

Messy race for me, started 2nd finished 4th.
Went off on lap1 at Estoril and lost about 5 places, ran wide again at Estoril on lap 2 and then had a spin at Chateau d'Eau leaving me right on the exit line .
Apologies to Blaz who found me blocking the track - I couldn't get the thing into reverse quick enough to vacate.
Then had another huge spin at Estoril (again) which cooked my tyres and ended up in 9th.
Due to a few spinners and a f550 letting me pass?? I ended in 4th and had a great dice with Greg130 - great defensive driving down into Lycee on the last lap Greg ; you're a hard man to pass. Cool

Very close at the end and the extra 10 mins this season really adds to the tyre wear situation, with everyone looking shaky towards the end.....enjoyed every min, cheers

Qualfied with race setup cause i'm re-making all setups atm. Got nudged off by Truetom, there's really only one proper overtaking place which is hairpin so better to try and out run me into it.. when I think of a track I pick over taking places and promise not to try overtaking on any other turn. For magny it's the hairpin only!! Any other turn and it will be forced and probably unfair. When I pick turns like this it's more relaxing cause i'm more concentrating on timing.

Anyhow.. car felt gr8. Truetom let me back through [fairplay] then I caught Blaz but you locked up and your car seemed as wide as a bus, nowhere to go .. i'm going down might aswell take someone with me kind of thing.

Just hope I kept it fair.  I was right on the edge mate, another lap and you would have had me.  Talk about intense, I was complety shatered after those last few laps.  What with trying to catch Pedro and keeping you behind me, I was almost at the point of letting you past just for a rest. Wink
