Thanks Ade that's worked for me. Must be something funny about these files as I downloaded and copied the one running on the server and that didn't work! Anyway in now with this one, TVM

As I see it, at this late stage we have the following choices: 1. We hold another fun race on a standard track while trying to resolve this issue for next week. If the problem remains, we replace the Snetterton and Silverstone rounds with standard tracks. 2. We replace Snetterton and Silverstone with alternative tracks. At this stage it would mean using standard Race 07 tracks. 3. The third choice would be to go ahead with the existing series, which I don't really think is a choice at all.
There was a fourth option: run without AI drivers. I know it's too late for tonight, but I've put an updated version of the track in the downloads. The GDB file is one which needs to be identical at the byte level between server and client to work - any variation in whitespace, line termination or encoding will result in "booted as possible cheat".

Great track, great race(s), great car, love it. Race one went sweetly, if a little routine. SBG getting away from me by 1 sec per lap & just about managing to keep the rest of the field a couple of seconds back. Race two was more fun but one of the two drivers behind me going into L1 T2 knocked my back-end & unfortunately that made it quite a twitchy drive. Took me ages to get back into the 1:11's that I'd been driving lap after lap in the 1st race . Still I managed to get some good racing, highlight probably with PR . Happy with finishing equal 2nd overall, but felt like I should have been at least mixing it with the three cars just up the road from me :'( A good opening evening that, thanks gents.

Not sure it's as simple as that Dave, I downloaded the GDB file from the server and still got booted. Ade's file was different (it had the new line in twice for instance) and I got in OK with that one.

I'd already decided to run without AI Dave, as it was clear that there was some conflict with them. This .gdb file issue was totally unexpected and I'm still not sure why the fix worked for some and not for others. It was so disappointing to see drivers trying to join and being booted this evening. Apologies to those who were unable to join. I hope this problem can be resolved before the next event.

Despite not having much practise and therefore being a bit far off the pace, I quite enjoyed that once I actually got online. Downloading Ade's file sorted it in the end.
Cheers guys, enjoying Race 07.

Cheers guys, enjoying Race 07.
Me too. Race 1 was not easy but it was quite. I had a bad start and thought the field would be on me but I had no pressure at all. Legzy had good race pace and I had to push hard to bring it home. If he had a better start I would have really struggled with the nasty man. Race 2 was always looking like more fun and it was. Got a fright at start off of Bill and our little touch left my car a little wobbly at the back. Nothing dramatic but just enough to get my attention. Had good clean fights with everyone after that, one with Picnic was nice, then thought it would climax nicely as I caught Tudor in 1st. His pace was good and I thought he would put up a hard fight but he just threw it off just as I got with him, apparantly he was distracted by his engineer teling him "Ginsters is faster than you" Is that the FIA on the phone? Unlucky Tudor and congrats to all. Would it be a good idea to run with standard tracks until addon issues are fully sorted? Anyways, more Race please

Sorry about start of race 2 Ian - found with my G25 setup the start was easy, on the rev limiter and drop the clutch. Engine stayed on the cam but had to back off because of the cars in front.
Quite pleased with the night, seeing how I hadn't really touched Race 07 till yesterday after a couple of years I guess. At least the start is better than GTR 2 - drivers popping in and out all the time. Sorry to any other drivers I caught out with my driving - when there a 3 cars behind you, a hectoring voice giving you warnings, it's difficult to stay out of every bodies way.
Also the track is different from the one we used on GTL, particularly that stupid chicane.
Thanks gt for arranging Series and hope to find time to participate in more races - GTL practice allowing.

Re-reading the race details, I see Race 2 is reverse grid. I was last in R1 - why wasn't I on pole?

I think it's selective about the criteria used to specify the finishers. I don't recall exactly but I know that non-finishers still started at the rear of the grid for race 2. It may just consider the first eight past the finish line or something like that.

Which is obvious. Or a guy having troubles at the beggining of the race would quit and start 2nd race on pole.

A very enjoyable race again last night. 40 mins of close action with some very good drivers. Race 2 was particularly good. Great battles with Picnic and goldtop at the end. Hope I wasn't too defensive Pete. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Thanks Goldtop for all your work.
