Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h00m45s

Arf gets away quickly at the drop of the flag and tries to squeeze between Raoni and Ronnie on the row in front of him.
He moves slightly to the right and catches Ronnie before being warped across the track where he collects Axel.
Evil tries to avoid the fun but gets caught up in it and it's every man for himself.

All eventually continue.

Arf did make a great start and although drivers should always be prepared to stay in grid formation or at least to their own side of the grid at the start, and often through T1, overtaking moves are possible, but squeezing in between the two in front of him on the run to a corner like Eau Rouge was too big a risk that definitely didn't pay off.

"On a straight, the overtaking car moves out to overtake but cuts back in too early."

Server replay time: 0h03m10s

Roberto runs wide at Stavelot and after hitting the fence he is thrown across track into the path of JonnyO whose race is ended.

Moderator's Report

Spa seems to be a Marmite track of late but love it or hate it, it usually throws up some great races here at UKGPL.

So who made Eau Rouge, Oh Rouge! and who managed to thread their high speed Porsche through Masta every time and who didn't?

Oh, and lifting for it doesn't count. ;)

Server replay time: 0h01m01s

Pedro vd Berg / Nicky Ickx / Gianni Selitto

Pedro enters Eau Rouge on the right hand side and goes onto the grass where he loses speed. Nicky who was following him closely also slows which allows Gianni to move alongside. Nicky decides to pass and moves to the left but he hits Gianni and then gets knocked into Pedro.

The contact happens on or near the centre line as Gianni was a little too far to the right, and Nicky moved a little too far to the left for his pass.

This doesn't really come under the usual rash type of move that happens at T1 as both drivers were being quite careful. As both contributed towards it by the position of their cars, it is a Contested Side by Side contact: Racing Incident.

"In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. Both drivers move over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made."

Nicky tries to recover but ends up driving the wrong way to the lowest point of Eau Rouge and makes an U-turn when he gets DQ'd by the server.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 0h01m03s

Fran Molteni / Marc Lenclen

Fran and Marc are following the action and both try to avoid the spinning cars by going to the left.

Fran would have made it but just gets clipped by Marc and spins.

Marc had little time to react and does not really move over much into Fran so it would seem harsh to punish him, especially as his car lost a wheel in all the excitement.

UKGPL Season 21 Porsche Super Cup
Race 9 Spa

The penultimate round of the Porsche Super Cup takes place at the glorious Spa road circuit, so the Porshces will be overinflating their tyres, removing all ballast and cranking up the gears for this unique challenge.

Spa is one of the finest racing venues in the world and has been since its inception in 1920. Drivers should ensure that they take care when taking advantage of the slipstream following previous incidents on this circuit. Remember, there may be more cars following you than you think.

Car needs to be taken at Eau Rouge on Lap 1 as the field will bunch up. This is not the place for making Lap 1 Turn 1 do or die manouevres. You cannot win the race in turn 1 but you can certainly lose it, and more importantly you can lose the race for those around you, beside you and on occasion under you.

Please see the Porsche Super Cup registration thread for an explanation of the Team Setups:

The Porsche Super Cup Races will be run across 2 Servers, under Pro rules and will be approximately 50 minutes in length.

Hello Roberto (Vianna)

I will be far from my computer on 26/08 (holidays in Vittel, East of France, like Spa a well known "Water" city) so the entire LOL'2 team count on you !
Good luck  Wink

I've been taking a look at the races Team GPFun have made untill now, and I can say that we always met:

5 times EvilClive              (Sebring, Le Mans, Brands, Silverstone, Solitude)
4 times Hristo Itchov       (Brands, Solitude, Kyalami, Mexico)
4 times Tom Van Ostade  (Sebring, Silverstone, Solitude, Kyalami)
4 times Fulvio Policardi    (Le Mans, Silverstone, Solitude, Rouen)
3 times Tom Guèrout       (Silverstone, Solitude, Rouen)
3 times Tristan Bot          (Silverstone, Kyalami, Mexico)
3 times Juha Hallikainen  (Le Mans, Kyalami, Mexico)
3 times Raoni Frizzo        (Sebring, Mexico, Rouen)
2 times Pedro Berg vd     (Mexico, Rouen)

Is there any kind of filter to avoid pilots will meet more/less than a fixed numer of times ?

Thanks.

Yes there is Clouds. We attempted to make sure that each team met each team at least four times out of ten and at most six times. It is actually very difficult to balance it up. In addition some of the teams joined after the server allocation was done so that slightly unbalanced things. In addition to that not all drivers turn up all the time - One of the LOL teams (I think) had no drivers last time out.

If anyone has an algorithm to make sure teams meet each other 5 times that would be nice.

Hi guys,
where can I find the section named "Lap Records" ?
Is it a part of the UKGPL site or it is just mounted on race pages announcements ?

Thanks.

Not part of UKGPL as far as I am aware. SROU has some code to add these when you put up a race announcement so the blue tabs at the top of the SROU (and the UKGPL forums) are the place to start. 'Circuits' is the one you would need.

It's because Paul's server doesn't have the correct bandwidth settings that allow more cars to be drawn.

It most certainly does. The BW patch is fully applied. The replay that Martin has supplied must be his own client replay.

If anyone wants the server replay for the BREASTS race they can download it from the UKGPL3 FTP site. Connect your ftp client to ukgpl3.dyndns.org or you can use an Internet browser to connect to "ftp:" followed by "//ukgpl3.dyndns.org" and the username is 'ukgpl3' with a password of 'gpl'. If I put that string together the forum tries to be clever and inserts an unwanted "http"

The replay is called SpaGT_BREASTS and is in the 'replay' folder
