Anyone tried the track yet? I haven't but the reviews seem mixed, some reporting fps issues. Hopefully its up to the job I don't know Hockenheim all that well, only from brief sessions on the F1 games years ago, I remember the sharp hairpin after the long straight, can picture a lot of locking up there.

Don't know why there is mixed reviews other than it involves humans so always will be It's a great looking conversion and we have raced here successfully before without issue. I'm old enough to have watched and sim raced on both the old and new versions of the infamous Hockenheim circuit. The old layout was a flat out power fest through the brooding Teutonic forests Apologies for no race banner yet but I'm flat out with real life will try and put one up st the weekend unless there are any budding graphic designers amongst us?

Any chance we can change the time of day or cloud conditions? The track seems so dark and its not always easy to see the corner even when your ontop of it. Turning into the kink after the haipin isnt easy, when you think you should turn in, wait a second and it will appear!
Have tried some of the PP presets to see if they can help.
We have run this track conversion before but was it as bad as this? horrible LODs, and poor track surface.

I had no problem with the lighting, its perfectly visible and its October in Germany so the sun does not shine like Abu Dhabi I actually quite liked seeing a cloudy sky in the race for a change.

can you tell me your settings then? I try and run things quite low for FPS on triples so might just be something i havent set. I also find that if i look behind or change camera its like it auto adjust the exposure which doesnt help in this regard also. within second it goes from nice and bright to something pretty dark. Though it might be something else as even on the desktop, if i move my steam window out of my left monitor it does it then and it getts brighter. super wierd

Decent version of the track, no problems from me. Quite enjoy the layout too, T10 is quite tricky for me, constant understeer! And braking too, I find a more rearward Bias helps reduce braking distances, but makes the last section (T15, 16 and 17) a bit wild Did some more practice with the AI... god they are awful at first corners, they slow to a crawl! Makes for some crazy Max Verstappen moves round the outside T1 though

Haven't experimented with Aero yet, not sure if a low drag setup will be useful or not; I think a higher DF setup will provide the fastest and most comfortable laptime, but in the race the long straight might call for low drag to not get mugged.

Understeer? I'm getting oversteer half the time. Lowering the traction control allows you to keep the speed in and it even keeps the mediums right on temperature. And it's more fun

Well, its just the one corner I'm having understeer, probably more to do with my driving than the car tbh And I haven't yet turned on TC - I know its a strange way of going about things but I like to start the race preparation by sort of 'handicapping' myself, or starting with the 'worst case scenario' - ie. I always start with a full tank, keep TC off, and have track grip at slow (95%ish). Only once I feel i've gotten the best I can out of those settings do I jump on the server with full grip, and removing excess fuel, then giving myself the luxury of TC. Probably gives me a false sense of progression, but I enjoy it.

That probably won't give you the optimal setup, as you will tend to make it more stable than is required. Everybody has their own way, but I'd recommend just doing the practice on the server .

And it's more fun Bit of a noob question, but what setting is default traction control? ie if I set it at say TC 5 what number puts it back to default? Also what setting do you recommend for the F458?
