I am thinking of using these in a series early next year The practice server is up and running! Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: phspok on August 25, 2018, 12:44:44 PM +0100 WTCC 2018 I assume?

Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: spanner on August 26, 2018, 03:08:53 PM +0100 So its your 3rd birthday party as well. That explains alot :P
Am hoping to turn up. Bought a 2nd hand grapihcs card which included a waterblock on it from ebay, have fitted it but now i can see why he was selling it, its been abused a bit and now is completely unstable. Will reflash the bios to see if that helps, then i will need to refit my old card. Not a quick moment :( Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: Eck Simpson on August 26, 2018, 07:27:50 PM +0100 So its your 3rd birthday party as well. That explains alot :P And you can't read, that explains even more... ;D Seems like I'm home after all.. make way, coming through. Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: frex on August 27, 2018, 10:32:27 AM +0100 That was fun. Close racing as hoped and nice to see we (almost) all took a different car - and if Spanner had brought his Golf along that would have been another different make on the grid. Sector3 have worked hard on the BoP and it shows.
Hope we get to use these in a series some time. Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: phspok on August 27, 2018, 12:19:06 PM +0100 It only accepted the 1st race results, but doesn't matter for a fun race.
I like these, I tested a few and they all handled identically to me. It's like a rush job to release them, but does mean that they are "well matched" ;D I managed to stay ahead with reverse grid in Race 2, after getting mugged in race one and not being fast enough to catch anyone. Good fun :thumbup1: Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: Geoffers on August 27, 2018, 12:58:57 PM +0100 Decided to just try one car & work on the setup, went with the Alfa for no particular reason. Initially it felt very understeery & I could only do mid 1.36s with it, worked on the setup & eventually got into the high 1.34s with it, but I think I made it more tricky to drive & too prone to corner entry oversteer without improving power understeer. Did briefly try the Golf before joining the server & immediately did low 1.35s with default setup & it felt easier to drive than the Alfa, but stuck with the Alfa for the races.
Races were good fun & surprisingly close but was a little frustrated that I had made the Alfa difficult to handle which produced very inconsistent laptimes. Hope we do get to run a series with these, looks like it could be quite close racing. I will be using these cars for a series starting in January :)
Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: frex on August 27, 2018, 01:28:58 PM +0100 Did briefly try the Golf before joining the server & immediately did low 1.35s with default setup & it felt easier to drive than the Alfa, but stuck with the Alfa for the races. The Golf and (especially) Audi were the most planted for me, the Cupra and (especially) Peugeot the lairiest with more lift-off oversteer. The others were all somewhere in between. That's with default setup only - once I'd purchased the Cupra and could play with the setup I found it responded nicely to the changes made, so worth persevering to get it where you want it.. By the way, did everyone remember to use Launch Control? I forgot in the first race, but it worked well at the start of the second! Like the push to pass in some other cars I hate that sort of thing
I like simple, can't be bothered to set keys for it. I forgot in the first race, but it worked well at the start of the second! Yes, I used it, worked ok but I thought it took an age to change into 2nd. Matt was just as quick away not using it & I tend to think it may be faster using manual clutch & gears. Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: Geoffers on August 29, 2018, 09:49:28 PM +0100 It only accepted the 1st race results I only have the results of the second race in my Log file, is there any way to get the game to save the results without overwriting the previous ones? Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: phspok on August 29, 2018, 09:58:19 PM +0100 Log file? I only know the one the server creates, and when we do a double, we set it as two events. As this was a test
I don't think Stephen did it that way. Doesn't matter, just it would be nice to have a post with me winning for once ::) Title: Re: RRE Season 5 (2018) R3E WTCC Series - Nürburgring - Aug 26 Post by: Geoffers on August 29, 2018, 10:18:11 PM +0100 Yeh, its in:
My Documents/My Games/Simbin/RaceRoom Racing Experience/UserData/Log/Results It only contains one set of results, for the last race you did, seems to overwrite any previous ones. |
