Car #10 needs to go too please Gent's
So is that 9MD & az10 in the Capri folder? Yes, that's correct. Sorry I should have said that. For Season 17 there will be an updated skins download with the rogue cars deleted.

Well, I really need to read the overview beforehand..
Didn't get much chance to practice until the weekend. So, powered up GTL, went to Nuerburgring grabbed the 1st Dagenham Dustbin which I thought had a nice paint job and set about learning the track and concocting a set up which at least enabled me to keep it on the tarmac. I know what your thinking.. Wrong Nuerburgring.. Erm no, Wrong Capri. I didn't even know the showroom had more than 1 variant.
So I arrive a little late join the sever and "Car not on server".. wtf Full panic mode, then I realised my mistake. Ok, It's just a different Capri, pull my set up across and I'm good to go. Erm no... (Again). The damm thing was un-drivable, a few panic adjustments to the coast side diff and it felt a little better but still swapped ends at the mildest provocation.
Lined up 7th on the grid and the flag dropped. Got a good start passing Bob and Clive on the run down to T1. Tony though got an even better start and passed all 3 of us by the exit of the 1st turn.
Began to lose ground on Tony almost immediately and had the pursuing pack climbing all over me and at the end of the lap Clive was back through. Then on the approach to T1 on lap 2 the inevitable happened and I got into an almighty tank slapper and veered off into the armco. By the time I had found my way back onto the track everyone was long gone and I rejoined a very distant last.
Caught ccstevecc who was having his own dramas into T1 on Lap 3 and made the pass as he went wide into T3 so was back up to 9th and set off after Roguk. A few laps later I saw him miss his braking point into T5 and I was up to 8th which was as high as I would be able to manage. I did think I may have a slim chance of 7th when I saw Tony Pit but he got out a good 5 seconds or so in front of me and I was not able to close the gap.
I did learn as the race went on that using the engine braking and only a small amount of brake gave me a better chance into turns but of course that meant my braking distances were very long (Even for me). So it appeared that while a brake bias of 57/43 in the hot Capri might be a good idea it obviously wasn't the case for this one.
Congrats to Ziu, Geoffers and Erling for the podium.
TTFN John.

Forgot about me pitting. I had been racing with Matt and at one corner (forget which one) I felt my move on him could be considered ungentlemanly so did a drive through as penance.

Because there is just the smallest outside chance, that I might possibly do something wrong.................. When you casually say "delete 9md and az10" from the Capri folder, is it as simple as that? I just navigate to the Capri folder in the TEAMS area and find the 2 files named above and delete them? Now that I finally appear to have eradicated all of the errors from my GTL install, I am rather keen to keep things that way

Oh, I wondered why you pitted Tony, I don't remember anything untowards, I was probably too busy trying to keep the beast pointing the right way. You are too polite

Both good races for me. Had my usual bad start and was passed by several before T1. I drove the races as a endurance event in this weird car, very cautiously. Spent a lot of time with the set-up and got it half way controlable for me. Had one small partial spin out. I set it up for me with almost no rear brakes and used "trail braking" I think they call it were you brake hard early and then keep some throttle on and then ease around the corner. I just hope the real Capri wasn't this quirky of a driver. It was considered kind of a "girly" car here in the USA, was marketed that way in the adds. Might have been more popular but was sold in Lincoln/Mercury dealers where older people shopped for cars. Came out at the same time as the Mustang, Camaro, ect hit the streets and I'm sure the sporty car buyer looked at it and said why buy a 4/6 cylinder car when I can get a V8. I know I never gave it a second look in those days. Grats to the podium and Ziu for the championship.......

If it helps people I can upload my setup for this car to the online folders tonight. It is still a bit tricky to drive, as my second race proved, but it may help to knock a bit of time off.

I have uploaded my setup for the Capri RS2600 to the online setups, it is in a folder called 'Base Settings' if anyone wants to try it.

Thanks Geoffers. Does it include a bag of cement in the boot?
