Sorry to hear that Daz and i am happy you are all OK. I missed you yesterday. Wow! What a race. I made literally the best possible lap on qualifying and i thought there's no chance someone will beat me for pole position. And then, Alvaro: "Hold my beer!". The start was terrible. I almost lost the car and lose 3-4 positions. We had a contact with Geoffers on entering turn 1, fortunately without slips. But Geoff lost 1 position. Sorry Geoff it wasn't intentional. After that i was able with more power to go to P3 and challenge Shaggy for P2. I overtake him and i had to push hard to stay with Alvaro. The gap was 4 seconds for around 5 laps but i was killing the rear tires and that was going to be important at the end. And then Alvaro suddenly went to the pits for stop/go penalty. I was now in P1 with comfortable lead but Hristo was now faster. And he was going to catch me if there was no mistake from him. Alvaro needed 1 more lap to challenge me for the victory but fortunately for me i saw the chequered flag first, less than 2 seconds ahead of him. Grats Alvaro and Shaggy it was nice to see you here guys. Race weekend with camera and commentary: https://youtu.be/8mbI_qH3AvQ

I don't believe that "Shaggy" is a member here so he won't be able to take part in future races until we receive his registration.
If I'm wrong about that then I'm more than happy to be corrected.
And if "byagm" wants to see a flag next to his name, in the results, he needs to fill out "Country" in Driver Details in his Profile.

No problem about the contact DD, I did not know you were there otherwise I would have given you some room, the 427 Cobra was so much faster than the other cars that it was pointless trying to stay ahead. Fairly lonely race for me after the first few laps, only really saw any other cars when I lapped them or got hunted down by recovering 427s. I made a few silly mistakes, without those I may have just been able to pip Shaggy for 3rd. Congrats to DD, Alvaro & Shaggy on the podium.

A disappointing race for me. I didn't have any practice with that particular Cobra, as I decided to switch to it in the last moment, after seeing how quick it is in the hands of DD, AGM and Shaggy. Struggled to figure out a setup that I'm happy with during qualifying, so just kept making changes until the very end, basically starting the race in the blind with some extra tweaks.
Had a really good start, but then Shaggy completely missed his braking point or something, hitting me hard and sending me off into the gravel. That dropped me to last and so I had to go through the field. Chris caused me some extra time loss as he dive bombed me near the end of the first lap, and possibly additional damage to the car.
After that it was all about avoiding mistakes, but I was pushing very hard and so that wasn't always possible. I was struggling a lot while braking and turning for T2 (the long right) and went off twice there.
Without the mistakes, it seemed I was getting quicker and quicker as the tyres wore down, and was even in a position to hunt down DD for 1st place, but then lost time and a position after one of those offs at T2, so I decided to make a pitstop, hoping to replicate my strategy from Laguna Seca last week. Well, it didn't work out at all, because I was actually not any quicker and even slower on some laps with the fresh tyres. I think it was because the car had way too much grip at the rear and thus understeer. After the tyres wore off a bit, I managed to score the fastest lap at least.
Near the end just as I was going in 3rd, I could feel the engine lose power and realized I was running out of fuel. It was happening just before the pits, but unfortunately the moment the engine turned off abruptly as the fuel was gone, it spun the car around and so I had no chance to refuel it for the last lap. I guess I must have used a lot more while pushing so hard to make up the deficit from lap 1.
Congrats on DD for the excellent drive and keeping it on the track despite the tyre wear! I hope in future races people won't be so reckless on lap 1...

What a shame Daz. I hope you and yours are OK. My race, a bit of a mess. I was have the fastest car and I couldn't get to the top 4. I need a lot of practice. 5 years without touching the wheel is too long time. I'm very slow. Grats to pod and all finishers.

Grats to those fast boys at the front, there were some very quick Cobras out there!! Certainly quicker than some that I watched at Brands Hatch over the weekend.....but they do sound so good in real life alongside Corvettes and Falcons. I used this race as a test for my revamped .plr file and I finally appear to have sorted the input delay from my wheel. The Mustang with default setup was definitely NOT the fastest car, but I was not too bothered as I did not want to be a hazard on track. Good to be able to say that I now have a steering wheel that transfers my instructions to the front wheels instantly. Just need to fiddle with the FF to get it to my liking. I prefer to feel some weight in the steering and last night it was a little too light and the ratio required me to cross my arms to get full lock. Far too exhausting for a man of my age!! Because I was more focused on what was happening with my controls I missed my 3rd "cut track" warning and got Dq'd lol. But as I was just about last, and certainly would have been after a SnG, nothing much was lost. For me the race was a success and hopefully I can now start focusing on the driving/racing See you all on Wednesday evening

Picked the Shelby Daytona. Never used it much, as I used to find it hard to drive, but more experience with making my own setups has paid off, and it was a pleasant drive yesterday. Initially looked like it would be another close race with Jose, but eventually he found a way past, and proceeded to pull away in the faster Cobra. Thus the 2nd half was fairly lonely and uneventful.
Grats to DD & podium.
