Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Porsche914/6

If anyone of "those who know and understand things" would care to put a setup online I'd be eternally grateful. :notworthy:. I may even consider to let you outstart me.

Cheers, Dan

Thanks Dimitar, I will certainly download it but if I manage to find a 914/6 setup I'll go for he Porsche because I haven't raced it in the series yet.

I saw my message appear in chat. I waited for a reply. I went and made a cuppa and still had no reply so I reset the server.

Disappointing race, despite having the wonderful Datsun at my disposal.

First 10 laps were a frustrating battle with DD.  Highly annoyed with myself for being unable to ditch his damn Opel, even with the better Datsun.  Had overinflated the tyres for straight line speed, but that of course compromised the corner speeds, putting me at a disadvantage there.  At the end of lap 7, in the Stadium, we passed an off-track dust cloud with Hristo at the bottom of it. Given the speed difference, he would of course be back.  By Lap 10 he had caught up. I made a mistake, running too wide in the fast right hander, putting wheels on the grass and losing momentum.  That let both Hristo & DD past. With tyre wear creeping in, I was unable to keep up; just couldn't go fast enough through the corners. With 5-6 laps to go, I realized my fuel was critical.  Had cut it too close by mistake, and if I didn't start saving, I wouldn't make it to the finish. Thus had to short shift, decidedly ending any hopes of competing for the podium.

Grats to Daz & pod, commiserations to the early retirees.

A little bit boring yesterday. I knew I don't have a chance versus most of the Datsuns but was prepared to drive well and wait for mistakes from others.

First 6-7 laps were chasing Erling. But no chance to overtake him. Even with slip stream I was slower on the straights so I was just waiting for him to make a mistake.

That happened and when I was thinking about 3rd position, the leaders collided and I was lucky to get P2.

Grats to Daz and Hristo and sympathies for Clive and Matt.

What a race, right up until the final chicane....

Couldn't really get to grips with this combo, setup was difficult for me to find a balance with on the brakes. Took most of quali to get into the 16s, and at this point Hristo was in the 14s.....

Changed the brake bias and power, and a couple of other small changes to go with it, just hoping to get better corner entry feel and stability. Not a thing I like doing just before the race, but at 2 seconds off the pace it seemed worth a shot.

Got away OK, and then got past Hristo before the first chicane as he ran a touch wide. I'm not going to go over every overtaking move that happened, I should watch the replay and try to keep count. Somehow, mostly related to the tow I suspect, I was able to stay with Hristo, and despite him then finding some good pace after his spin we still went on and on fighting for the lead once he caught me up. It was going to go to the final lap unless he could break the tow, I knew I could not break his pace as his car was certainly quicker in a straight line whether in the tow or not.

So, many many many overtakes later, we find ourselves going into the final chicane side by side on the brakes. For the first and only time in the race that I am aware of, there was contact, and we both went off, with Hristo having a full spin around, whereas I was able to remain mostly straight and recover to the track. For the record, I felt it was a racing incident at the time, but being as I was trying to go past him when the contact was made I felt it was likely more to be on me for the responsibility, and therefore was going to give the win over to him once he caught me up as I cruised to the line. Unfortunately DD then gate-crashed our party from nowhere and put paid to that by forcing Hristo to outbrake himself and run off a second time.

I took the flag with a bit of a frown, and I've no doubt Hristos would have been even bigger. It felt like a very poor way to settle what had been a utterly fantastic race. I'm quite sure I've never swapped places for the lead that many times over that duration of race before. Watch the replay as it will be entertaining for sure.

That was one hell of a race! I noticed that my wheel was not centered properly and I was also getting random inputs that made the car turn suddenly to the side, especially towards the right. It made driving close to anyone else quite dangerous, but even as I was going on my own, it would often send me towards the grass, which was a problem when it happened under braking before corners.

Although I had good pace, all those issues translated into a lack of consistency and confidence in the car. In addition to that, Daz was much quicker in the race than he was in qualifying, so with the aid of slipstream, it was almost impossible to escape for too long.

We had countless exchanges of position, as he mentioned, and some mistakes by both of us put us within striking distance of Dimitar and Erling as well.

Eventually it was back to just the two of us battling it out for the victory, but unfortunately it all ended in tears on the last lap when we tried to go side by side into the chicane. Then I thought Dimitar would be very late under braking for the stadium and went off on my own, gifting him 3rd place.

Now the chance for winning the championship is almost gone, but I have only myself to blame, for not quitting the game in practice and resetting my steering wheel.

Congrats to Daz for the win and Dimitar for 2nd!
