Unofficial LapChartWhat a race! As a Gentleman Driver I'm really not used running for podium places let alone have a race with fierce battles from lap 1 till the end!!
Don't know what happened at the start but sneaked between the two Healeys to get P3. Then I proved the cork in the bottle whilst the two Ferrari's of Ginsters and Pelle sped away, with Navin and Geoffers on my back. My main advantage was top speed of the Cosworth at the straights. I saw Geoffers disappear in my rear view mirror while before the corners I the Healey boys could catch up because of my early braking....
This went on lap after lap and by lap 17 I was already thinking.. wow, this is great stuff! Last laps in the race were total mayhem where Navin, Geoffers and I both were on and over the ragged edge several times. The last lap collision was bound to happen and it must be said that it was great sportman-ship to wait for me.
Big thanks to the Geoffers and Navin for the hard but clean fighting
Ginsters, being lapped is part of the game and frankly I didn't notice it. Saw Pelle flying off the track after overtaking me. Hope that wasn't my fault
the aftermath:
Next evening I went bowling with the office. Racing probably proved too hard for this average driver and after one hour badly strained my back
Even simracing is dangerous
. Hope I can join you soon for some more prototype action but for now I have to take a small break from simracing.
Bill,
I promised you the
Chevron-Cosworth setup. It is still a tricky car but at least it doesn't spin when you just thinking about turning in. Hope it will work for you also.
Thanks again guys for this great race. It proves that you don't need large grids for proper racing (but it is nice if there are).
