Hello Nappe,
thanks for the invitation.
Since we have summertime in most countries, wouldn`t it be better to start the race one hour earlier?

Huge apologies to Dominick for my stupidity in the 2nd race  Sad
No excuses from my side, I should have made sure that the car stayed planted in the barrier, but instead I kept my foot down and it just swung around, found some grip and blocked the track.

No worries, Clvie, please, cut the cord. I might have had a different reaction rather than driving straight into you for that matter. But you did pick a quite peculiar parking spot.
If it makes you feel better, I got a Cut Track out of it, which must've been an immediate S/G, which I didn't notice and I got a DQ out of it.  laugh Wink

Good attendance & some fun racing at Salzburgring & lucky enough to pick up two class wins.

First race, I took the 1300 Escort because it is such a great car to drive & makes a wonderful noise. Surprised to qualify 2nd ahead of several 1600 cars. Got a good start & ran 2nd behind Markus who quickly disappeared up the road in his 1600 Escort for 4 laps until I got it wrong through the final ess-bends & spun off. This dropped me well down the field & had to drive hard to get back to 4th at the end & a fortunate class win.

Second race in the BMW looked set to be a good battle with Markus who was quicker in qually. Again got a good start & got to the chicane just ahead of Markus, made a mistake & got rather sideways under braking into Faherlager turn & was lucky to keep the lead. Did the same again on lap 2 & this time Markus went past, as he had been quicker in qually I expected him to pull away, but I was able to stay in touch & appeared to be faster in a couple of places but not in places where it was easy to pass. Eventually I got a better run out of the final turn & somehow managed to pass around the outside into the chicane  Huh. Next lap Markus got a wheel on the grass exiting the final turn & spun off, leaving me with a comfortable lead. Bad luck Markus, was good race until then.

Congrats to all those on the podiums  clap clap clap, cya all next week.

Thank you for being a gentleman about my stupidity Dominick.
I still feel very guilty about someone out in that fashion, as I try to race fairly...some might think otherwise  Roll Eyes lol.

Grats to all the podium finishers and class winners.

I was quite enjoying the cars and the racing last night, Despite getting a wheel on the grass on lap 1 with the Escort and dropping to last place, from where I climbed back to ( I think ?) 2nd in class. Geoff was in another class altogether and I suspect that the scrutineers missed the 2ltr engine hidden under the bonnet.
The 1300GT Escort proved a really quick option in race 1 until my wife scared the living daylights out of me!!! I wear headphones when racing, and my desk faces away from the door. I was just launching the car into the Fahrerlagerkurve on the knife edge of adhesion, when a face peered around in front of me as a hand landed on my shoulder  scared
"your daughter is on the phone, but you can call her back later".  The resultant spin allowed Rog to reclaim the place and totally destroyed my composure for the last laps!!

Race 2 was fun in the Capri...what a beast!!! Again a dumb mistake early in the race  Undecided The recovery was going well, until the afore mentioned brainfade moment, with some great battles as I progressed.

On to the next round.....

Race 1: pleasing practice and quali in the Bellet. Running in a surprising 4th place with Bob and Geoffers some seconds behind.
Hoped to stay in front of them when handling slowly worsened and I had my inevitable spin (but this was the only one  Grin ) and had to let
them pass.

Race 2: still fighting with the handling of the GTAm. Had to leave after several spins.

Thanks for organizing. CU next week.

First race was kinda ok for me, I feel as if I jinxed everyone ahead of me though (apart from Markus) as Clive, Mike and Geoffers had various misfortunes. I wasn't entirely happy with my pace but at least I managed to finish the race with only a smallish mistake in the hairpin. Both Markus and Geoffers were superfast last night, honestly I'm still wondering about how Geoffers managed to pull that laptime in the 1300 Escort. Mind-boggling laptime! I could have been a bit more careful during qually, however, as I think I kind of messed up one of Bill's laps while trying to pass him. Sorry for that mate!

The second race was pretty bad. Markus and Geoffers were in a class of their own. My qually laptime was a personal best but even during qually I never felt comfortable enough in the Capri, in complete contrast to practice. Had some nice small fights with Clive( hopefully I left you at least some space mate, not sure if I blocked you anywhere) but then, towards the middle of the race I somehow managed to make a complete mess of the first turn and ended up in the wall, causing some damage to the car. I tried to reach Dom and Salesman but they kept disappearing in the distance. After that first corner incident I got in front of Dom but by the end I made a mistake and he almost passed me, again I'm not entirely sure whether I left enough space, hopefully I didn't block you too mate, but as you got the cut track penalty I don't think it made much of a difference in the end.

Grats to all participants, looking forward to the next one.

I am sure Nappe will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it will be Varosliget, downloadable here:

These were two totally different races for me. For the first race I choose the bigger Escort. It was quick on the long straight and handling is good in the last section. I could reach my pb in the quali, and the gap to the following was astonishing. Geoffers was really fast in the small Escort, respect mate. I had a quite good start and was on P1, I only had to look for coming through that chicane without a cut warning. After a few laps the gap was big and I did not have to push, only to keep concentration high enough to avoid mistakes. It worked out and so I won.
In the second race Geoffers had chosen the same BMW and he was really fast. I needed nearly the whole 20  minutes of the qualifying to catch him. In the end it was only a few tenths.
My start was ok, at least I thought ist was. Geoffers had a rocket start, he was so fast that he caught me without a problem on the way to the chicane. After that we followed each other and in the end we had nearly the same speed. But then I made a big mistake at the exit of the last corner, so Geoffers took the well deserved win. It was a fantastic race!!
Grats to all participants and class winners! Thanks to Nappe or organizing and see you in Budapest ;-)
