But never have understood why you'd want to pretend to be a train driver in your spare time  ??? Not that there's anything wrong with being a real life train driver but where's the buzz in sitting in front off your screen watching your train going down a pre-determined route?

BTW also available are a farming sim where you can drive tractors and a shipping sim

I'm not in the slightest bit interested in trains but I bought Railworks 2 when it was uber cheap in the Steam sale a while back.

In my defense... ;) I'm interested in sims in general and thought why the hell not for a few quid.

If you play it on full sim mode, it's REALLY, REALLY hard to drive the train, it make you realise that having driving aids in racing sims really is a positive to get new people into it. If Railworks hadn't had a dumbed down control scheme I would have given up with it pretty quickly!

Add in the challenge of keeping to time, obeying the speed limit, signals etc. it can be a very challenging experience, I can understand why some people enjoy it.

it is when I count my interest level. Problem is I'm addicted to sims in general, especially now I can't work, it replaces it. But between cars, trains, ships and planes, there's only so much time!! HAH! Not to mention being a Dad.
