Two very different races for me.
Crystal Palace went really well. Dan as usual shot off the line & passed me into T2 & then promptly spun across my path which I think helped him as I pushed his car pointing back in the correct direction. Now in the lead I was able to pull away to a comfortable win helped by Daz pitting from 2nd place (am I correct in saying inadvertently?).
Goodwood was a different matter as I really seemed to be struggling for pace, so much so that when Daz was nearly 1.5s faster in qually I checked my pedals to make sure I was getting full throttle, which I was
. Race started & things got worse, two early off track moments dropped me to the back of the field before I encountered Kurt's stranded car on the exit of Woodcote, tried to avoid it but just clipped it & spun out. None of that mattered though as a lap later the game froze approaching St Mary's, minimised it & got it back up but was out of the race in the paddock. Oddly this happened at the last Goodwood race, BSCC back in January & at the exact same point on the track too
.
Anyway watched the rest of the race which maybe answered why I was slow, too high gearing
. No idea why I had not spotted that in testing.
Congrats to Dan on the Goodwood win & to the others on the podiums.
