Championship standings HERE Grid/server capacity: 22 Track: Imola (GP) Cars allowed: Ford Escort RS, Porsche 914-6. Note: Driver's can only choose one car make per race. No repeat drives. Applies to Round's 3 & 4. Details of Round 4 hereCUP STAGE D, Round 3Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make.Race: 20:30 (24 laps) Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit stops required: NO Server: simracing.org.uk Monday Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: If anyone has the Porsche 914 red tyre bug, download this and put in your GameData/Teams folder and allow to overwrite.

Guy's, my PC is playing up and I'm knee deep in computer internals. It doesn't look good for me making this race or Wednesday I'll keep you updated.

Any idea which Escorts are available? Whenever I chose I receive a Car not present on server message. Only RS1600 is available as I am not sure this is the default car.

Only 1600 is visible on selecting a team Tony. The original one is just "GT". EDIT: Hristo will help me. It looks like I am missing the folder in GameData.

The Porsche seems to have something wrong with its rear tyres. Their core temperature shows as red by default (as is seen on XD), so the more you drive it, the more their surface temperatures keep going up, but never really cool down. One slide, one spin, and you're finished, losing more and more rear grip, because the temps just stay sky high.
I looked at its tyre physics file but couldn't find anything wrong with it, so I wonder why that happens. Maybe I missed something.

I upload my setup online for Ford. I will be happy if more people join that, not just me and Hristo almost every time.

There is a typo in the rear tyre file. Look for Temperature and compare to the front tyre.

Thanks Geoff and Tony! No wonder I didn't find what the issue is, I was looking at the 914_GTU.TYR file in the Porsche folder. How come it isn't using that (it's set in the HDC file), but the Dunlop file instead? I wonder if I'm looking at the wrong 914 car lol

Just did some testing and it seems that the Ford is several seconds quicker than the Porsche. Was hoping they'd be closely matched, but not the case around this track. Uploaded my Ford setup (v1b) if anyone wants to use it. Got down to low 04s with it. A bit tricky on acceleration still, but otherwise very smooth.

Grats to the podium places and finishers. I was really, really...REALLY!!!.... slightly miffed in my Escort RS. Somewhere between a practice session this afternoon which was hopeless and the end of qualifying this evening I started to understand the setup and how to drive it. Not that I was ever going to bother the 4 aliens up front, but I was circulating at a steady 2:10 'ish and picked off a few places to be sitting in a comfortable 5th and actually enjoying the ride. With around 9-10 laps to go I had a 15 sec lead over Erling, so I wondered if I could go sub 2:10 and just tried pushing a little. I figured that I could just about afford one serious "off" and fend off Erling. Out of the final corner I was just a little enthusiastic with the go pedal and the rear end protested sending me towards the inside barriers...no probs just keep the engine running and swing it around. The car stopped by gently nudging the barrier at right angles. OK, select reverse and we'll be away in a few secs and don't be so damned stupid in future! Hmmmm no reverse??!!! Frantic manipulation of the stick thing but the front stayed firmly glued to the barrier So I quit, and went to look at the CONTROLS menu. All the gears were mapped to the shiny new shifter, except REVERSE which was still mapped to the old Logitech address What a plonker
