It's early so in case I forget when I wake up later, this one is on top somewhere ;)!

Rear wheel drive with rear engine ie massive rear grip + rain, hmmm, does that sound better than rear wheel drive + mid engine + balanced + rain? ;) :D

Hurrah! I've missed the Sprint races.

I'm approaching this one with quite a bit of trepidation though, a soggy Spa is SO dangerous. This could be carnage... I hope the moderators have cleared a few days in their diaries to deal with all the incidents!  ;)

LOL, I wish I had cleared any days to practice!  :)

I will be coming cold and wet and with desperation that I can remember how to drive GTR.

Apologies guys as I wont be racing tonight. Cant seem to shake off this flu bug ive contracted. Has left me feeling absolutely knackered, with no energy to even concentrate on my pc screen, let alone attempt to drive around Spa - in the wet!

Good Luck to you all, see you at Anders in 2 weeks.

Cheers

Rob

Get better soon Mr Bywater!

Not really looking forward to Spa myself either. No practice, no proper Spa Morgan setup in the dry or wet. My only hope is that others are in the same boat (probably quite an appropriate phrase).

I knew I shouldn't have bothered  :-[

Sorry to Blaz for stuffing up your race, went to do a stop and go and hit ESC as I didn't want the crew to do anything. Stupidly that meant I quit the race.

Arrrrgggghhhhhhhh

With the Bi-T that is double troo m8!

Good racing peeps! I was on pace reasonably well, but in the end tires went cold and after I overtook Don1, I immediately ran out of tarmac at next corner, cause of no grip :(  :o >:(. Ah well Still 10th I think.
Even had to do a stop and go, lol! Good stuff still, if a game can upset me, it's good! LOL!

Now gotta run to the postbox, maybe GTL is in!!! Woohoo! :D  ;D

Best.. race... ever...!

Awesome last few laps chasing Rich_A and Greg with Shark breathing down my neck, didn't do anything for my blood pressure I can tell you!!!

A very sweaty Pops at the end ;D and very, very happy indeed with 6th.

Congrats to PaulW on his podium finish, the NGTL Spa specialist!  ;D

Qualed 4th, Mo and Leuven did incredible times, I would have trouble achiving this in a GT car.  :o

Came to 3rd place in L1, then Leuven quit and I was 2nd. All went ok, Rich_A chasing me allways about a second behind until about 10 minutes before finish, soft wets didn't grip any longer. Rich_A overtook but spun after half a lap, so I was second again. Bad luck, Rich_A, just a little too much throttle, eh?  :-\

Finished 2nd, and happy, considering 4,5 second (  :o ) time gap in qualifying. Again amazing, Mo and Leuven!

Long live the Penguins!  8)

Well what a mixed evening.
Qualed in 3rd with a pb (wet), well chuffed.
Started the race and had an crap first 2 laps, costing me 2 places.  Fortunatly the guys who passed me pulled away, made me feel a little better at giving away the places. Nothing more frustrating than making a mistake and following someone in the wet, thinking it should be them following you.
Settled down ok in 5th untill someone left the game on lap 8 causing a split second freeze on my comp, just enough for me to get a tyre on the kerb and spin.  Fortunatly only minor damage sustained but another 2 places lost.
I really do wish the guys who leave on a regular basis half way thro races would stay and watch, you never know you might learn something from the faster drivers (not me).
Anyway on we go having lost 2 places and now in 6th, had a great battle with Pops and Rich for the last couple of laps, ended up in 4th and being relieved to finish in one piece, well almost.

Ta m8, do like a bit of Spa action I have to say :)

Pleased with that as I was dreading driving in the wet having missed all the wet endurance races in the past. Put a bit of practice in to get a feel for it though and it paid off with a PB in qualifying and a 3rd in the race. Terrible luck for Don with a spin at the end who really deserved my third after a superbly fast and together drive.

It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a race as much as that. I can really feel the adrenaline rush now that I've finished and the cold fear has subsided! Was dreading every drop down into 2nd for the last third of the race because my rears seemed to snatch and slide the car a bit and loosing the podium was scaring the hell out of me!

Very well done to everyone for the superb standard of driving in the wet- really top notch considerate driving I thought during the edgey first few laps  :)

Now I need a lie down so that I can get my heart- rate into double figures again  :P

The race was incredibly hard work and I think i wish i'd left soft wets on as the hards didn't have enough grip.

Finished 7th, probably could have come 3rd or 4th if i hadn't thrown it across the gravel trap near the beginning and smacked my right front hard into the barrier and then not cocked up the bus stop badly once and hit the opposite end of the car from the first ding (at least it balanced it out :-\) and then on the last lap after I'd somehow caught the Popabowa group I lost the backend and therefore lost the pack.

The Morgan was seriously uncompetitive down the straights, wouldnt have been any different in the dry. Got totally eaten for breakfast by the Tyfs BiTurbo up the first straight and couldn't stay with the GT3s down the straights either, was having to make it all up under breaking and through a handful of the corners where I found some good lines to make up time.

Mo's qualifying was lap was just totally incredible. I wouldn't have got near that in any car. Well done mate on the pole and win!

Still quite pleased with that setup that I cobbled together at the last minute though, no practice at all.

Well done Pops, Paul and Don, top work!!

Ironically i had my worst race ever ! :'(........throttle loss on several occasions, numerous 'sympathy' spins when people lost it in front of me, bad (un-tested) full wet race setup, and plenty of crap spins and body damage of my own. I think my Porsche looked like a 50 pence piece by race end :-[

still got to overtake a few people and pottered around and got 11th...small consolation for 40 minutes of pain! :'(
I hate wet races in the GT3, i just cant understand how Mo got a 1:27  :o....has he had it modified by Hoverspeed :P

I do not know what happened to me the car took off on what I thought was the straight and cleared the barriers , end of race.I should never have gt off line to let a car through earlier as things went form bad to worse after that.gerald >:(

Congratulations to Mo for his win, 1m27 was that really your quali time I didn't see it - that's very fast!! Five seconds faster than my time..   :)

Still, qualified 5th, got a sudden load of oversteer on right curb going through Eau Rouge, but held it just.. you kept throttle on Shark nicely but my RSR powered right passed awesome. After that was a blur, bit tired for this race but was nice following you Truetom.. not much in it!! Twoing and froing we were until you went too hard in La Source and then popped it into N.  ;) I took it well and crept passed only to spin half a lap later into Pouhon.. you know the story, too much speed, too much brakes, to much steering, around she goes  ::) funny how the tyres went like that, couple of laps and that's it they're gone - is that normal?? Well it was simple mistake, done it a thousand times... finsihed 5th but I should have done better. GTR runs like a dream on my rig, got some new 2 3 3 6 2gb RAM. Cars look excellent, specially that Morgan in quali exiting pit behind me..

Hey is there a gallery here? I wouldn't mind doing some pics for some of the races.. ?

Definitely a pb for me in qual that's for sure, and managed to hold it together for the win.
I had an amazing setup running on soft fronts which seemed to go the distance ok. Little bit of understeer creeping in towards the end but that was more than welcome.

Only one scary moment really at Eau Rouge on first lap where I nearly binned it, and then outbraking myself at the end of the straight while looking at the looming Leuven in the rearview.
great race for me , definitely my best ever.

Seems like a great race all round with battles throughout the field  :)

I hate wet races in the GT3, i just cant understand how Mo got a 1:27  :o....has he had it modified by Hoverspeed :P

lol maybe I should race boats

One of the best races I have had uptil now. Thanks to all that raced.
Had a good quali and managed to keep it safe for most of the race and then with something like 4 to go lost concentration and span it.

Think that was a 2:27 Rich, otherwise I think he may have a little divine assistance.

No, no gallery. I have one over at Team Shark, obviously it's a little biased towards Team Shark entrants, but here's the small section from UKGTR races...

I'd like to second that. There were some off's but the standard of car to car driving was excellent from what I saw. Very polite and cautious, suitable for the wet conditions, both people racing together and the back markers and in fact during qualifying where the pit exit especially is horribly dangerous anyway.

I think I had some divine intervention anyway - never got a 2.27 before, dont know how I got it, and dont expect to do one again.
From looking at the hot lap replay the lap looks plain and simple. I think I somehow managed to hook up a perfect lap, every single corner , braking point and apex was spot on.

I have to agree with PaulW's comment on the high standard of driving by everyone. At such a dangerous track in the wet there were very few incidents, and a good finishing field.
I think the attrition rate was higher in the dry season 1 NGT race  8)

see you next time

I had a play with the Motec stuff when offline and noticed that if u add up all fastest times of the different parts of the track u get a seriously faster lap than u do in general. Maybe you managed to do one that was just as smooth as that!? :D

T

P.S. Sowwy for the braking in the first lap after Eau Rouge, but I just got confused all of a sudden when I didn't hear the 'green flag, green flag' message. Hope noone ran into trouble cause of it :D

Had unlucky race.
Incident in 1st lap (np picnic) and solid (not fast) racing to finnish. 9th place at the end was OK, since i lost a lot of time on 1st lap. No paper work needed - picnic penelised himself - thx.
