I was tempted to run the Auto Union originally, but was worried I might kill all of our regular racers  Cheesy

Also we've been meaning to try the 250 for ages as I remember

I like the Auto Union, but the Maserati is also very interesting. She is certainly easier.  Smiley

Race night then  Smiley

Has anyone actually made any changes to default setup (apart from tyre pressures, fuel etc)? The default seems to drive ok (which is useful because I wouldn't know where to start with these cars) but I'm woefully off pace.....again  Roll Eyes

I'll be honest I haven't looked yet!
I imagine most speed is in gearing and arm wrestling the car!

If things are going to plan I will be trying the Rift out tomorrow night.  Grin

This is my setup: https://www.dropbox.com/s/u764bojq2tysdgg/250%206%20donington.ini?dl=0
Not sure if it is good, often my setups are bad  Grin

As said by Tim, it is more about gear-box and knowledge of the car (the handling is very characteristic).

It's a shame not to have Stefan here.

PS: fuel race should be 41 liters.

I really like this car Smiley
Second competitive race in a row. Qualified a solid 7th. Grid was three wide, so I could see the front row just in front of me. I got a good start and passed a car in front, but it was very tight and while still under acceleration to t1 there was a contact and I went into a spin. Lots of cars followed and I think I was in 9th after t1. Tudor was close behind and from that point we battled each other until about lap 11, with some interruptions as we passed a couple cars and Maxime got passed us. I think we passed each other a couple of times each. First I though there was something wrong with my gearing as I seemed to be much slower on the back "straight" as Tudor was coming up quickly there, but when I was behind I was able to go faster as well. I guess these cars have some slipstream Smiley. After Tudor crashed on lap 11 or so I had a quiet last few laps, with cars too far in front and behind. I got a couple of places at the end as I think Maxime ran out of fuel and Darren's engine failed. I think my engine would not have lasted much longer either, it was already orange, and I wasn't even speed shifting Smiley
Congrats podium, and insane fl Tim.

Fun race while it lasted.  I blame Adam....  He was acting dodgy before the race.  Grin

For weeks Crew Chief has been lying to me, so this week I ignored his warnings....

"Your engine is toast, wait for a tow back to the pits"....  5 seconds later my engine cuts out.  Roll Eyes

Maybe I was a tad hard on the old girl.   whistling

Congrats to the podium.

See you next week.
