I am away now for the week so can not do testing, therefore I have made it 12 Lapsdue the the different fuel consumption, and, I don't want it to be much over 40 mins There is still a minimum of 1 pit stop, whether the car needs it or not.

When I use the "Race Weekend" with the AI off-line, I have noticed that the grid gets scrambled after qualification.
Matt has suggested that we run a test on-line with real people logged on to see if the same thing happens.
If as many people as possible could gather on the server tonight at, say, 7:00pm GMT, then we could test this out. We just need to get enough people to set a time, and remember their grid slot; we can then vote it through to the race an see if we still have the same order.
Shouldn't take long.

Can't promise, but I will try to be there. Any laptimes yet? I had a go in the GT40 Mk2 & after several abortive attempts working out where I had to brake to be able to make the corners ( ), I managed a 3.33.

Yes I'll try to get there too. I don't think grid positions are that important here as once we all start drafting on lap 1 they'll soon change.
But just to remind...
7PM GMT TONIGHT PRACTICE GRID

A few of us just had a pracci, quali race session and all seemed to be ok.
Noticed the server is still set to 13 laps instead of 12 though.

this track seems to have a lot of bugs. Going on the grass, sometimes is impossible to come back on track.

Noticed that too. Best to rejoin track the same way you went off and don't be tempted to look for the shorter route as there are glass walls in the way.

Everyone is going to have to have their "sensible head" on when it comes to the end of the Mulsanne on lap one.
The Mk2 has to start braking just after the jump that isn't a jump any more.

When I think GT40 and a 60's Le Mans track it should be petrol head nirvana but it's blinking hard work in p&g. Has the car got a rudder instead of steering arms? Doesn't help that you can't adjust front camber or toe. Given it more rake and rear arb but still hard work. Car is also really slow out of the slow corners due to the long gearing, could do with some clutch dipping. Best I've managed in a mk2 is a 3:36 so far...and the ford works department have written off at least 6 cars Where's a 917 when you need it?

Can't believe that they built the Mk2 with so little adjustment in the geometry. Surely every car at least has adjustable toe even if it is only to take out manufacturing tolerances.

In the CHristmas special, (that I won in a Mk2) the Gulf was quickest, though the MK2 was fastest on the mulsanne straight. And yes there are holes to fall into if you come off at some places, so, don't come off there. The options were - holes - broken start sequence, - crazy jump we ( I ) opted for holes as the best compromise.

The track looks great especially the old iconic pit row but it is pretty narrow for 80% of the lap so not sure how much fun 'racing' there will be in cars that steer and brake like ocean liners It is fun drafting down the mulsanne though but think the modern Porsche curves are far better than this old sector 3..with a spectators 911 parked on an outside apex Are the 906 Langheckes present in png3? Wonder if they are competitive if so? Am sure the developers know their stuff but I find it hard to believe the Gt40 was this hard to drive and so limited in setup options. They'd never have such a long 1st gear for a start!
