Oh yes, forgot to say; sorry for bumping you in the pits FreQ
No probs, I didn't see you leaving until I was right sideways in the box, otherwise I'd have slowed to let you leave. The boxes are soo close together it's really tight to fit in. No damage though to either of us I think.
Very sorry for the bumps to FreQ and Tom, both in the same spot braking for the chicane. I'm not sure what happened there, I was on the brakes early enough and I had them floored most of the distance.
It's easy to panic when you brake a little late and that corner is nasty. I was a little apprehensive when you announced returning because this track is tough and you are fast, but being out of racing for a while means you can be all over the place! In a strange way, it was good because I needed to stay ahead of you but couldn't break away on new tyres, that punt meant I couldn't make the chicane and got a gap so I could focus on lap times instead of you all over me. Try practising on a full fuel load so you're confident with a heavy/slower car. (oh, and the Viper is crap on the brakes!)
Quali: good laptime but felt it could've been a little faster yet, pole position anyway from FreQ who did a brilliant laptime with the Viper at this track
I just spent all of qually hotlapping because I didn't have the confidence of sticking a blinder in towards the end. My best qualy lap was better than I thought, but I was 2 tenths down on my previous best in sector 1 and did a great middle and final sector to go 2 tenths faster on a 52 flat. It could have been very close.
In the race I was 0.5 up on the second split on my best lap but ran into the gravel at the 130r, so ended with a 53.9. I don't mind not winning if I know I've done my best, so my only regret is cocking them up. Oh, and spinning entering the pitlane whilst I came in for the stop.
Dunno why I just moaned there coss I really am happy with second, no way was I fast enough to win, so congrats on the pace (52.5 race trim!?). I hope next time I can push you a bit harder.
Cheers all
