Thought I was on for challenging for the win there as I had the speed on the other 2 in the top 3 and after leading for a while it seemed I might just get a win! But after the pit stops I was miles behind! Sneaky Jeff must have managed to do almost just a stop and go with his pit stop and presumably did not change tyres and neither did NFS! I could almost have done that on a full tank, but wish I had started on a full tank now and just splashed at the end without new tyres.
Still it was nice to get the fastest lap for once!

Must apologise for first lap, omitted to read start procedure and it took a while to realise what was going on. Sorry for the overtake Simon as soon twigged what was happening I dropped back. All in all enjoyed it in spite of all my silly mistakes. Well done podium.

You were unlucky near the end Bob, was admiring you're overtake around the outside but you never straightened up You were a lot quicker over a single lap than me in the same car!

I went for full tank at the start and mediums. That way I just needed to add 30 litres and not change tyres. I took the stop early as I didn't want cold and worn tyres after the pits. If I would have refueled, I would have picked soft tyres, which isn't possible in the Porsche, which makes it a big penalty for that car. My pitstop went terrible tho, when the limiter turned on, the back end stepped out and the rear hit the wall. I then bounced off it and hot the other wall with the front, ending up with dark orange damage at the front and back . You had great pace Simin, which made me worried before my stop. Last race at A1 Ring you were also flying. Did you sell your soul to the devil ?

Thanks for organizing this event SRW I had quite some fun on my favourite mod track. I decided to start the race with a full tank of fuel and medium tires as well. Qualified on P2 but right after the start Simon was directly behind me, trying to find a way by. Due to our battle Jeffrey was able to open up a gap and after a mistake from my side Simon went by. I tried to follow him, but he was clearly faster and I really hoped that he had less fuel onboard. I made my pitstop halfway through the race, but unfortunately I overshot my pitbox by a few centimeters and had to reverse After everybody finished their stops I was back in P2 and stayed there for the rest of the race. I was about ten seconds behind Jeffrey, but Simon came closer lap after lap , so the race was quite intense for the whole 50 minutes My pitstop went terrible tho, when the limiter turned on, the back end stepped out and the rear hit the wall. I then bounced off it and hot the other wall with the front, ending up with dark orange damage at the front and back . I already wondered why I was able to slowly decrease the gap to you after the pitstop

" need more of these on a Sunday evening, tremendous fun, just need to get it right once in a while. don't worry Bob, starting in January I will be holding a bi-weekly Sunday evening Assetto Corsa GT3 Championship based on the British GT Calendar, I also plan on running other AC GT3 series based on the Australian Supercars calendar and an endurance series next year. But before then put the following dates in your diary, I am organising another AC special event on Sunday 12/11/17 for prototypes at LeMans and on the 17/12/17 at Daytona Roadcourse.

Sounds interesting. I'm suffering a bit from GT3 fatigue, so having something out of the ordinary sounds good .

Single lap its great but over a race, well I just had too many spins in it. Once the back starts to come round it comes.

Really enjoyed that race even though I was trailing round at the back! was in a position to beat spanner until I over cooked it at the old hairpin, losing 14 seconds getting back on the track (and over heating the rears in the process which meant I had to go very slowly for a lap to cool them down again and regain some grip).
Pity some racers couldn't get on the server, although even without them we had a good turnout.
and a big thankyou to Picnic for teaching me about setting up the server and sorting it out on raceday.
Back to R3E for the next few Sundays until my next AC special event "Prototypes @ Lemans", details to follow.

I already wondered why I was able to slowly decrease the gap to you after the pitstop Car wasn't even that much slower, I think around 0.3s a lap, but it was so understeery that I made many mistakes after my stop . I think my bad turn in even surprised Bob in his Nissan as he went through the old hairpin faster than me

No worries Bob, I haven't done a rolling start in years either, but it all worked out in the end.
I normally start with a full tank in these types of races but as I needed to change tyres the fuel stop was no penalty at all. Wish I'd tried to do it without new tyres, would have been more interesting. My pace on full tank wasn't really any different to low fuel.
The Porsche is really suited to Donington because the types of corners need rapid change of direction and the slow hairpins which suit the characteristics of the car. Even so, I was surprised to be so competitive on just the practice I did during the event and a few secret setup tweaks from a previous setup I had.
We just need to do a lot more advertising for the next round so we get a bigger grid. Personally I would prefer 60 or 90 minutes to make it more like endurance and to force people to change tyres! ;-)

Posting on the AC forum hasn't helped with the Porsches and SCG and as long as it isn't GT3, hardly anyone is interested it seems. Can it be 55 or 85 minutes please, 60 and 90 sounds too long . Mediums will last 60 minutes on most tracks, so to force tyre change it needs to be 90 minutes. Or you could use x2 tyres, but that's horrible.

Standing outside in the street wearing a SimRacing.org.uk logo and handing out leaflets? Advertising on more forums, PMs to all our AC members. Can it be 55 or 85 minutes please, 60 and 90 sounds too long .
