Indeed I am. Looks well moody here in the twilight. Was considering the VLM version which looks even better, but was very choppy on my slower system so went for the "normal" one. If people want to test the VLM version on systems that could struggle please do and let me know, and we might use that one. If people are rash enough to lose their lights then by the time it gets dark, they will have had almost hour to get to know the track, if you don't know it by then you will struggle There is just about enough trackside lighting to allow driving with no lights once you know the track. Car choice is very open, I might trim it if I get to test. If anyone finds a car that is way faster or kinder on tyres let me know and It will be looked at. Some of the cars are there because they use less fuel and have less tyre wear (shorter pit stops) Some are fast but eat rubber.

I'm happy to stick with current track. VLM version is pretty, but as you state it is graphically challenging. This version also drives a lot nicer and smoother than the VLM one imho although I appreciate the track is indeed very bumpy in RL.

I'd better start practicing pit stops - a whole new world of possible mess-ups opens up in front of me!

Yep. Don't forget to turn the ignition off when you stop. Otherwise you'll sit staring at the lap timer going up, wondering why nothing is happening!

I notice that lelero has the lap record from Season 1 using a Corvette C2 roadster (#67007) with a time of 2:32.165
This would have been back in the days of the Legzy Dollar, in v2 of PnG, so do we have any feel for if we are going to see anything faster than this?

Not from me. I had a corvette in that was way faster than the rest of the cars, removed him, and now they are all within a working tolerance I think My average pace is around 2:37 - 38. I do 2:38.0 in the Falcon Weslake. Jags are a bit slower but are kinder on tyres.

LOL, I guess that means that I have been overgenerous with the Pork again, and Tudor is doing su 2:30's in the 2.5.. I may need to "adjust" the cars... Times anyone?
Not sure this is the same layout as before, we tended to use the one where you turn right and take the shortcut before the hairpin, this one is go right to the end and use the hairpin.

Not looked at the track yet, but on paper at least the 911 2.5 ST should be head and shoulders above the other cars here. Maybe consider swapping it for something like the Alpine 1300?

I was using the shortcut The hairpin makes more sense with these cars, but I reckon we ought to add a warning to the race announcement as we did last time, because there is no cut warning for using the shortcut. There are a few hidden gems amongst the tanks that would challenge the pork over a lap, but over race distance as frex says it's probably a no brainer. Best to remove the temptation then

I would drop both 70's cars as its obvious they will outclass the 60's American muscle over a race distance, tyre technology alone would give the upper hand. Maybe add a few more 60' GTs in their place? Some cobras would be nice! They are superb fun to drive in p&g3 Not back from my hols yet so won't get much praccy in before the event!

In my tests the 60's cars were very able to compete with the others so I would not like to see any change at this point. Let the drivers decide from the fine selection you have offered us I'm probably leaning towards the Falcon Weslake.

Even in my hands, the 911 is >3 seconds a lap faster, easier to drive and the tyres last longer. It's a no brainer. But since this race will take about three times as much preparation as the normal format could we please confirm the car selection before I waste any more time practicing cars that may not be available. Some of us do not have the talent to show up on race night, pick a car because we like the colour and then be competitive.
