HL2 is simply ace, the gravity gun is the best, and if you play in deathmatches, as i do with my kids, you certainly learn how to use it to great effect.
I have been playing HL2 since Nov 04 now, and can drop my nipper from 50 yds with a well aimed radiator  Wink
Doom 3 was a very good technical demonstrator but had limited game play appeal, as after you went through the first level, it all became samey...
STALKER,,... mmmm now that looks promising. !

I think the gravity gun has its place, certainly if in deathmatch, its upto the admin to set weapon's so it aint a problem there. But that final level were you only have a gravity gun is a joke. point fire, instant death to bad guy, spit out, kill more bad guys. This was impressive at first, but dull after the second time.

It is the closest thing I've ever seen to a Doomsday Device (see http://www.planetquake.com/expert/GameDesign.html ) in any game, not to mention very boring (I enjoyed the level with the priest, but I felt I had fully explored the gravity gun by the end of it).

Other doomsday devices so far have been limited severely, even if only by lack of ammo.

Gah, STALKER is delayed until 2006

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=59994

I do wonder about this one- it has uber potential but could also be another *shudder* Daikatana.

Even if it has no gameplay it's still worth buying just for walking around chernobyl etc. I've had it on pre-order for ages already!

Apparently there was no STALKER demo at E3 this year....
I'm not entirely sure what this may signify.. if anything, but I would have thought that the developer would have been jumping at the chance to show off their supposed "living" AI...
I really hope that this doesn't turn out to be vapour ware...
does any one remember West Racings promises..
nothing happening here... move along please
