Balls, totally gutted. Dont know whats wrong but as soon as Mo joined the game, my screen just kept flashing the 'Loading Mo' sign continuously in front of me. Tried several restarts including full power down, joined other lobbies no problem, even changed game profiles but the same problem every time i rejoined our race. I could get out on track without the flashes but then had no engine sound, but could hear all other sounds. It was impossible to race like that.  :'(

Sorry Mark but I had no idea. Strange bug :(
My PC crashed in the last minutes of qual so that's it for me until S5.

I've always been a bit off the pace at Barce, and don't think the M3 is best suited to it either, a combination which left me right at the back of the grid. Nevertheless, was having an enjoyable race, just about managing to stay in touch with the cars ahead of me. Unfortunately I got bumped off, and by the time I extracted myself from the gravel was 10 seconds behind, and decided there was little point in continuing.

What a awful race for me was running in 5th or 6th when I was punted off, had to let the whole field through caught up again gave Aagram a nudge, sorry about that I lifted off slightly to let him regain only to be undertaken [incident discussion removed]

So once again sorry to Aagram

bit of an off race for me aswel!

i swore i had a setup for this track but i could not find it so i was makin a setup as quick as i could in qually which left me down the back end of the field!
was havin great fights climbing thro the field!
me and my team M8 got caught behind jan for a bit, teamie got thro and i did a lap or so later only to spin at the next bend doh!  had to let the hole field thro!

a few laps later i see my same teamie in front of me again! (he must of had a spin too)  and were again chasing down jan in his porka!

unfortunatly near then end of the race, teamie made a move on jan down to T1
jan must of broke early i think as i brake in normal spot and i was a good 4-5 car lenghts back but i could not slow down enough and just tapped jan in the boot!  My apologies jan!  I waited for jan to go before i went!

me and jan had another little battle and again when i got past, the next corner i spun!

jan was my grim reaper this evening! so i then called it a nite!

No worries Mo, i have no idea what the problem was either. It didnt matter what car i tried it did the same thing each time i joined the race. In the end i decided to just try and do one lap with no sound to see if it would right itself. I got half way around and saw your ghosted car there which i overtook then escaped to my garage. As soon as 'next session' came up for the race proper, the sound came back to me. You were Excorcised !!  :)

Race start was a bit of a nightmare as i was so freaked out by numerous pc and game restarts, ruining any rhythm. My sound sync was still out and i kept getting bursts of sounds which was really disorientating when another car (like Sharks TVR) got near me and i down shifted too far twice resulting in spins as i couldnt grasp the engine notes properly.
A real shame as i had really good pace in the F360 (my first time racing with it ) and my setup felt great. I got myself upto 11th after about 10 mins and was closing on Jan before my gear-spin :(, dropped right to the back again, but then re-fought my way back upto 9th in the end and closed a 9 second deficit on Baracus with only a few laps remaining...then i got low fuel warning ::) I then had to short shift for the last 3 laps just to get it home and thus ended any chance of harassing Baracus into a mistake or getting past.
Still enjoyed myself and had a good race despite all the problems. Think i could have had my highest sprint finish this season if not for the chaos. :-\

Well done to the podium guys and well done TT who has been our shining star for the Legends. 8)

Same old problem for me with qual, running 1:41.8s offline and could hardly make the 1:42s online, something to work on for next season :)

Great race though, lost a place to Jon at the start and just couldnt get back at him, got close a few times but he drove an outstanding race all the way, congrats to Ruskus and team Shark :)

Excellent race there tonight with Leuven for the first half :whistling:..unfortunate we touched at that slow left hander,  cheers for waiting m8.  Rejoined behind TT who was lapping at around the same pace as me.

As the laps went on i closed right up on TTs bumper  :ninja:, but just couldnt do enough to try anything.   In the end i had to settle for 7 as TT drove well.

Congrats to CJ and Ruskus.

Cheers Mark.

Yea, Stnasky, in any other car you could pass, but M3 had enough power to be able to go slow through the bend, then power off. I knew you could only pass on my mistake so I was extra carefull. Good job you made with being fair and patient. Enjoyed racin with ya!  ;D

Once again, we do not discuss blame for incidents in public. Removing the name does not absolve you from this requirement!

If you are upset about it report it properly. These forums will not become a vigilante court.

Congratulations Jeff on the championship win, 5 wins out of 8, you were clearly the fastest NGT driver this season. Well done to CJ and James on their 2nd and 3rd places in the table too.

Also well done to Team Shark on a good margin of victory in the team championship, unfortunately my Junior team could only manage 6th with no points in the final round and some very fast Kerb Krawlers getting good points (kudos to Mo for taking the Mosler, definitely one of the nicest slower cars).

Although the TVR is a fun car to drive I just find it a bit of a handful in the race, never seem to get good balance or speed and my pace just seems to go downhill so I've not enjoyed NGT Sprint as much as previous seasons. I think I may switch to GT for more races next year, but again if I come back in NGT it will be a different car cause I don't like sticking with the same car every season.

That was pretty tense, with no real chance to relax for the whole race. Pipped CJ for 2nd in qual by 0.001 but didn't really expect to hold on to the place very long. Sure enough he passed me early on with a nice move into T1, which left me with a little gap back to Jon in 4th. I then spent the rest of the race trying to manage that gap without wrecking my tyres (medium all round). I could see my team m8 snapping at Jon's heels, which hopefully slowed him down a touch (nice job Keith), but the gap gradually came down to around the 1 second mark. I then had to push a bit harder to stop him getting really close, and I think around this time his tyres may have been going off, as the gap widened slightly. Then Ruskus appeared in front of me after an off, and I stupidly ran a bit wide and gave the time right back to Jon. Luckily I was able to stabilise things and held on for 3rd. With Keith in 5th the Kerbies jumped up to 4th in the championship - I wonder where we would have been without the big technical problems that plagued Keith and Mo all season?

Congrats to CJ on the win, to Ruskus on the (already confirmed) championship and to Team Shark for a dominant team victory. If next season is as competitive as this one it should be a cracker.

Oops, posted this in the academy section :-[

What a race! I got lucky at the start and was able to out drag Keith down to turn 1. The TVR seemed a fair bit quicker down the straights compared to the Porka and that was the story of my race really. Nearly got up to Paul in 3rd but he always seemed to have a little spurt on to gain a few tenths when needed. Grats to Ruskus on his second sprint Drivers Title 8)
Thanks to SROU for another glorious season Smiley See you at  the next one ;)

Jon, on a slightly unrelated note I see you're a Tiscali 'customer'. I was too up until the start of the month, and their network has been getting shoddier since December. It got to the point where I couldn't play anything after about 5pm, due to their traffic shaping.

If you're outside your 12month contract, get your MAC and get out ASAP! If not, then just download the Internet and get FUPped ;)

I can't believe that you cannot discuss what happened to you in a race, if I had wanted to point the finger I would have said who it was. YOU obviously knew who it was, that is why the post was removed. I will report the incidents and watch nothing happen, where is the impartiality here ???

Post by: Paul968 on February 22, 2007, 03:14:19 PM +0000
It's a very simple rule - don't discuss incidents in public. Doing so is highly likely to make the other party respond in public also, and a slanging match is the unfortunate result. We've been doing this for years now and a ban on such comments is the only way, believe me. The one thing you will certainly get on this issue is impartiality.

I will have to take your word on that Paul because the general feeling with many teams, not just mine is that it is far from impartial. I have on many occasions stuck up for SRou but it feels more and more like a jolly boys club. For the most I really enjoy the races here at sharkracing.org.uk but the season is now over and we are now 2 races with no moderators reports excluding the last. You might say well that's easy for you to say when you don't have to do it but I have offered and that's a different story. All the bitching and bad feeling that comes across on the forum seems to come from the organisers not the participants so I really can't see what the problem is.

What is the point of a forum (Discussion Borad) if you cannot discuss anything ?

I probably shouldn't get involved here but I feel I must stick up for the moderators who work very hard behind the scenes trying to sort out the races. For a member here to basically call them corrupt makes me a tad upset.

There are rules that state no public discussion of incidents and that is for good reason. I've been sim racing for over 5 years and can still remember the bad times before this sort of rule was introduced. There is a procedure if you feel a ruling is unfair or unjust. It rarely gets used but always a different moderator would be used to check the findings, claims and counter claims.

As for any incident in a race where a team member of the mod is involved an independant mod is ask to check it out.

Really? You are one of a very small handful to have ever made that suggestion, but if you'd like to give me examples of this lack of impartiality I'd be happy to look into it. (pls do this via PM tho). Remember that there is always the right of appeal if you disagree with a ruling, in which case you will get an impartial second opinion.

I have on many occasions stuck up for SRou but it feels more and more like a jolly boys club.

In some ways that is not so far from the truth and is exactly what many of the drivers want. It doesn't mean though that you need to be 'one of the boys' to get a fair crack of the whip.

Quote
For the most I really enjoy the races here at sharkracing.org.uk...

If you are suggesting that team shark are given an unfair advantage then please remember that 3 of the 5 mods are not from Team Shark and that mods will normally refer an incident which involves a team mate to another mod not in that team.

A combination of the cutting problems and a bad case of 'the real world' has caused a big backlog this season. We are working hard on this at the moment. I'm afraid it just isn't as easy as asking someone else to temporarily fill in, but thanks for the offer.

All the bitching and bad feeling that comes across on the forum seems to come from the organisers not the participants so I really can't see what the problem is.

I really don't know where you get this from? I see very little bitching, although its inevitable that some people will be unhappy about some things that happen in the league.

Paul

I have another couple of weeks left of the 12 months and will most probably be leaving them. They're a bunch of liars which is the worst thing. I was once told that my computers chipset wasn't compatable with the internet :o And that any problem wasn't the fault of tiscali :D I've had a look around and am thinking about Sky's package :)

I've been trying to add to my NTL package today.....after 2 transfers and 20 mins waiting I had to hang up because I was late for work. Is it so hard to get half decent customer service?
