That was frustrating, it appears something has changed in GTL since I last used my dedicated UKGTL install. All i got was 'Game not available. Host may be running an updated version' or something like that. Tried my Altbierbude install which is moderately up to date with all the auto-patching it does, and that would at least join, but of course no point actually loading track as its missing all the UKGTL skins.
So I desperately tried to cobble together a working install but clearly something was wrong, it loaded Imola so I guess wrong Zeltweg version. Darn, its a track I know well and one of my favourite cars so I thought I'd give it a go - got straight down to low 4s in a few laps refamiliarisation and was hoping for mid to low 3s. I guess I am destined to remain in retirement.

Good race. decided to use higher than ideal gearing to make sure i had fuel, and to make the rears last a bit more as with optimum gearing the rears got chewed up quite fast, even though I could go a little faster i thought I should play the long game, and it seemed to mostly work. Had some superb tussles with Mark C and GT for a while, until GT stuffed it into the inside wall and bounced off the fence onto my nose as I tried to avoid. lost a lot of the fun after that, as it was then chase Mark, and gradually catch, then he froze mid corner, and rematerialised behind me where he stayed to the end was holding at around 5-6 secs but I think he must have had an off as it leapt up to 17 secs with only a few to go, so cruised to the end. Great pace from Henry in the 275, and Navin for keeping his Aston 12 secs or so in front up to the end.

Qualified P4 on a full tank due to Sandor making my screen flash but did not want to pull out at this stage so just stuck with it. Rubbish start dropping to around p6 ish? Than managed to pull back and had a truly awesome battle with Goldtop and Phspok. Goldtops Healy was faster in places but just did not have the legs down the straights and slipstream as he might he just could not quite pull it off relying on Phspok and I cocking it up in the turns as we fought wheel to wheel. This is the best kind of racing guys many thanks. I eventually got a break on them and eased a gap out but unfortunately my PC froze/black screened mid corner I hit the brakes and luckily found myself just off track when it came back on. Still don't know whats causing this its strange!! Any way this gave Phspok the break he needed and try as I might I could not close the gap again and pushing to hard spun into a left hander. Settled for P4 and much needed championship points. Well done podium guys.....great race.

Tibernius DQ Yeah...I was kinda...driving the wrong way after the race finished. Sorry. To be honest I hate that car, and I hate that track. So not a particularly enjoyable race for me, despite the scraps.

Was really enjoying that. I think the first time I've raced the Healey and was a lot nicer than I remember it. Great racing with Mark and Matt as we contested 3rd place for 10 laps or so. I was just able to hang onto the back of the Astons down the straights when I could get in the tow, which allowed me to battle it out in the corners. Excellent close quarters racing chaps Unfortunately I went in a bit deep to the right hander at the end of the straight, hit the outside armco and then skewed it into the inside armco...not very clever Even worse, I stalled it and had to restart. With only one way to go, I looked left and went but nearly took out both Eifelblitz and Tibs who must've wondered what the blazes I was doing Very sorry for that both Car was very wayward after that and I understeered into the outside of the last bend and did one of those strange nosedives and decided to hit esc before I got in someone elses way. Must try harder next time!
