Everyone is going to have to be very careful!! I suggest people try get at least 80-100 laps of practise in to really learn the track and layout Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Fabri Fibra on December 11, 2017, 06:21:10 PM +0000 Unfortunately I will not be able to participate at this race, because of the work. :(

Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: FullMetalGasket on December 13, 2017, 05:26:07 PM +0000 Most of my practice for this has been in SUV's (Hilarious) and 917's so I'm confident I can beat the current top times....
no-one will mind if I take the Porka I take it? ;D Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: frex on December 13, 2017, 08:02:22 PM +0000 No practice, not going to make it. Apologies :(
Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Manteos on December 13, 2017, 09:10:52 PM +0000 Apologies Mark. After I crashed I didn't move but I can't figure if I was on the outside or inside part of the track. I tried to esc and pit immediately, but it was simply too late. Sorry again :(
At least this time I did more than 2 laps, but my wheel wasn't working because there was a usb logitech gamepad connected, so it caused some sort of conflicts with the G29. After I understood the problem, I was not able to use the paddles because they were simply not working, and I went with the H shifter. At that point I knew which would have been my fate. I don't expect to obtain something better at the Nordschleife, but life is unpredictable. See you Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: PorcoRosso86 on December 13, 2017, 09:45:28 PM +0000 Title of the race could be: save the savable
No good pace, wrong setup, qualified 5th. After the start, stayed cautiously on my positions, until at second or third lap catched santini at the first harpin. Rest of race was a bit boring from my cockpit: I managed my gap, too slow to catch fmg, quite fast to control Mark J. A little fear last 2 laps: hit the concrete-hay bales at first corner, destroyed completly my radiator, and lost over 1 sec at lap, I saw Mark on final laps like a Jack Russel on hunting! Fortunately I finished in front him, 4th. Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Mark J on December 13, 2017, 10:28:42 PM +0000 Hehe Porco, ;D it was nice to have someone to hunt at the end though Bob was good too for chasing for several laps before that (why were you so far back Bob? You had good pace).
Front 5 were too quick for me in qually. I hadn’t once broken into the 32’s so started 6th. Fluffed a gear on start so lucky I wasn’t collected by anyone. Did similar up at turn 2 and could have been a disaster with team mate Stefan as I skidded across the apex but thankfully he kept his wits and avoided me :-* I then chased Matteo and Porco for quite a few laps until Matteo had a huge crash at T1 ahead of me :o I hit his fast spinning car square on hard and thought that’s it, race over :( but other than some damage I seemed still able to push thankfully, even got into the 32’s finally a bit later ! :) Then Had a quiet race for a while other than catching well behaved lapped cars. Then in the dying laps I noticed I was taking good time out of Porco ahead and thought he might be low on fuel so I chased hard but he kept it steady ahead and finished 5th. :) Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Bob on December 14, 2017, 07:14:59 AM +0000 ;D So far back because I made one mistake and went for a swim in the lake. Had to go to pits to dry out plug leads.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: ChrisR on December 14, 2017, 08:34:34 AM +0000 I had a pretty good race until i spun on the long right hander up the hill.. after that it was just a matter of finishing, felix was too far ahead to catch and i think fmg was about 5 seconds behind, so i just had to stay clean and bring the car home..
Km looking forward to next weeks race :D Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Jeffrey on December 14, 2017, 08:59:43 AM +0000 Any bugs or other weirdness found on this track?

A 'black hole' in the lake mentioned by Bob was the only weird thing I found apart from the usual 'leaded' hay-bale ::) Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Jeffrey on December 14, 2017, 10:29:27 AM +0000 Any bugs or other weirdness found on this track? A 'black hole' in the lake mentioned by Bob was the only weird thing I found apart from the usual 'leaded' hay-bale ::) Is that the small lake on the right side of the long right hander? If it's another lake behind solid objects, then I'm fine with such a back hole, but not when it's easily accessible. It's easy to loose control and slide into that lake. Also I noticed some weird mesh gaps in some place, although not causing any serious problems. It's on the outside of the fast left hander where the long right hander curves around the lake. The 67 version only had a curb there, "newer" are versions have an armco there, so I think they are recommended in the future. Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Mark J on December 14, 2017, 11:52:21 AM +0000 Yeah but you had to get it pretty badly wrong to end up in that lake, it’s a long way from the track. I wouldn’t discount using this again because of that.
Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Jeffrey on December 14, 2017, 12:01:19 PM +0000 Yeah but you had to get it pretty badly wrong to end up in that lake, it’s a long way from the track. I wouldn’t discount using this again because of that. The other version have armco. These curbs kinds act like armco anyway, but the armco is a bit safer IMO. I don't really know what other cars would suit this track. Other classics are often too wide or fast while modern cars don't fit here really. Maybe some slower classics? Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Bob on December 14, 2017, 12:08:17 PM +0000 My own fault going for a swim, got too close to Sutol and clipped the curb and in I went, rest of race OK, would use this track again. :thumbup1:

A lot of my practice was in the 917, 330, 908 and - erm - SUV's ;D Anything 60's feels and looks amazing here - although passing a prototype could be a tad tricky here. The 67 F1 cars should be OK as we seemed to manage ok with the 63's ;) Chris and I even managed a bit of side by side before he buggered off up the road away from me... Just maybe nothing quicker than early 70's as then it will just get silly (I tried the Ferrari 2004 for a laugh - that would be unracable here it's so fast. The Fez 643 is fun but probably hotlap only. The Jordan and Formula Easter cars would probably work though. Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: Mark J on December 14, 2017, 05:57:39 PM +0000 Someone had a lot of spare time on his hands
But agree only classics should race at Pau :) Title: Re: UKAC Season 6 Lotus 25 - Pau 1967- Dec 13 Post by: FullMetalGasket on December 14, 2017, 06:02:06 PM +0000 My trackday got cancelled on Monday - I needed my fix ;)
