A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: None.

We will be running a hosting server test for this event.
The lobby will show two Simracing.org.uk races. One will be called RACE, the other will be called BACKUP.
Please join RACE
If we experience problems then we will switch to BACKUP which will run, once everyone has re-joined, with no qualy and straight to race (random grid). This is to make up for any lost time due to the switchover.
Note: RACE will only appear in the lobby on race night, so please use BACKUP for online practise purposes until race night.
To give this a good test it would be great if we can get ten drivers on the track.
Thanks
Tony

After some years I had the great pleasure to watch a Cobra again mastering the Nordschleife last friday at the Historic Marathon during the Oldtimer GrandPrix. On lap two or three the driver nearly lost the car just behind Wehrseifen but fortunately was able to get back on track without touching any crash barriers.
Great stuff driving a Cobra in race speed around the Nordschleife!

An enjoyable event. Having already driven the Maserati twice, I was in need of a car change for the Nordschleife meeting. So after a quick review of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDvybSyE4Sk , the decision was made. If the Aston did so well in the 50's, then it should serve me well too. Close running with Ivan at the start and opening laps, though I was able to increase the gap slowly through the race. I think the Aston was maybe a bit more nimble around the twists and turns of the Nordschleife than the Maserati. Thanks for the 'gratz' at the end there Ivan. You'd left the server by the time everyone had finished. I try not to get into too much chat while the race is still 'live' for others, as I know for me, the 'chat' popping up on screen can be a distraction (I don't want to read it...but my eyes are drawn to it, and the next thing...I'm off-road ). Well done all finishers, and to Eifelblitz/SpecialKS (is that Kurt? I struggle to keep up with the names ) for the other podium spot. Great Stuff! Gratz Mike on the finish too, in the 375+ (must have been a handfull). Team RaceConnect top the team points for 2nd race running. A bit late for a championship surge, but still time to climb the table a bit before the end of the season. Monza next, and I've had a telegram from Enzo offering me a drive in a Ferrari for the next round (I wish ).

OK so, the RACE dedicated server didn't happen. I'm still trying to work out why it wouldn't let you guys log on to it. Matt, any ideas? So we used the BACKUP server (our usual one) to race with but I forgot that I still had that set to No Qualy. That's why you all had to exit to the lobby while I reset the server to give us a qualy session. GT, sounds like you don't have the Ferrari 375+ installed. Good enough race with the best thing being absolutely no disco's. Early on I passed Postal who had flipped and it looked like he wasn't being flipped back so I did a quick 180 and went back to see if I could nudge him over but by the time I got in place he had quit out. Nice to see Roger finish, that was a toughy mate so well done on finishing. Monza next with those wicked banked turns and hopefully no disco's too.

Hi really enjoyed this race, cars are hairy and found even more so with race fuel, super sounding cars and the graphics in GTL great. Got a bit lost trying to find short cut, and a bit late to start, so took off from pits, also had a couple of offs trying to remember track. Thanks Tony for being patient to pass me then you took off into the sunset. Grats to podium.

Not sure Tony, what is the "RACE" server? is that yours? if so have you opened all the required ports? some for race (that increment I think) and one for the broadcast to lobby.
I downloaded GTL from Steam last night (and I despise steam) will have go tonight to see if I can get it to see the simbin lobby.
