Firstly, grats to Geoffers, John and Jos. Great driving. It was a tight one, that's for sure. I dented my own chances of a decent finish by bouncing off the Armco, both sides, as I passed the pits early on in the race. Highlight for me was trying to keep Tudor bottled up in the second half of the race but in the end he managed to squeezr through. I gave chase but then messed up the hairpin a few laps later. I had discounted the 911 because the rear left tyre melted after three laps; so what's the trick? And how many rounds of hide-n-seek are we having to spot the best car in the next race? It was an impressive field, shame it was only roller skates. PS Sorry MJ, couldn't quite lap Legzy.

Non Comprende? the best car is whatever you want to drive from the list, which is not likely to change unless someone finds a glaring error, and I don't think there are any. The Vette is probaby fastest, but a handfull, the Daytona and the Panty are close behind the 906-8 is slower but easier and kinder on tyres, and may be appealing to the people who want more of a challenge. SO, what's new ? I am temporarily testing a home brewed server for comparison/disasters at the moment, and maybe for a few weeks if you connect for practice let me know how it seems? particularly if there are a few people on together. Thanks.

I think these posts should be in the Reims thread Just had a look at the test server (under "Rules" in the lobby) and there appear to be lots of driving aids allowed.....stability, steering, braking etc. Compared it to the GC public server and none of these are allowed Should it be like this?

qualifying: not so good actually, the escort lacked some pace compared porsches and alfa's, ended up 10th... race: bad start, think i stalled the car so i was immidiately passed by 4 cars, back to 14th place... first 10 minutes i was trying to makes places up which wasnt that easy on this track, but other drivers were crashing out of the race so that helped. finally up to p5 i was behind mark who was rather fast, so a long battle commenced. all the way up to lap 40 mark's car finnally did what it should've done much earlier, loose the backend ah even a podium finish and the fastest lap of the race sweet.

That was great fun Couldn't quite get close enough to challenge for the lead, except for one occasion when Geoffers had a slight wobble at the corner before the hairpin and I almost got through on the brakes. I probably wouldn't have been able to hold onto it anyway, as the 2L Alfa had just enough extra oomph where it counted. Good driving, Geoffers. As you said, there wasn't anything between us in pace and it made for some of the closest racing I've had in a long time

No Tudor it should have the same rules as we normally use. I thought I had set it so. I need that machine for a while tonight (it triple boots 2008r2, Centos5, and now XP for the server ) so I will start the practice on the proper server, and maybe run Mr Testy tommorow.

My plan was to survive first 10 laps in decent place because of hard tires being faster and faster as race progress. But I didn`t make to that point because in lap 9 (I think) my pc froze for a couple of seconds and I ended up in fence.
I didn`t apologise to the guys behind because I know how much chat can be diversion in race for other racers so now - I am sorry especially for Nick for ending his race that way as a consequence of my problem!
btw my problem was recorded in event viewer as "low on virtual memory" - I use 4gb patch and this was first time that I have something like that. I had similar problem once before but that was because of my av start scanning (solved) ... I`m running win 7 64 bit, 8gb ram and about 15 gb free space on c drive ... and I`m out of ideas why.

Much appreciated Ed. IMHO, there is far too much chat in both qualifying and the race.

No problem mate, these things happen, It was a very tricky to avoid u in that corner and I ended in the barriers. I had fun nonetheless until it lasted . looking forward for the next race. Kreshnik

Like this little bumpy and funny track - it's a shame that it has some bugs (which do not exist in GTL version which is another one) Happy to have finished. Can share Tony's feelings about the slower drivers. Maybe we slower "gentlemen" or "amateur" drivers should really act more like in reality. Fantastic turnout - grats to the podium. Was able to watch the battle on top because I've been lapped four times CU next week.

With this talk of lapping, I'd just like to say thanks to those guys being lapped I very rarely have any problems as everyone seems to be on the ball and aware of what is going on behind them. I don't expect anyone to jump out of the way... but sometimes a bit of extra help is appreciated as the car I'm driving isn't always as fast in a straight line as the one I'm trying to lap!
