Lots of overtaking and mistakes which kept the race interesting until the end. Wasn't sure if Ricardo had an engine problem at the finish but he didn't, he slowed to let me take the win. Presumably because of the bump we had with a couple of laps to go. A very sporting gesture, you are a gentleman.

You are correct, I had no problem, due to some mistakes I don't know how much I hurt you, here we are to run and have fun. You deserved to win, my congratulations. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) 1967 F1 Sprint (Privateers) - Monza - Feb 21 Post by: Pepe Higdon on February 21, 2021, 11:17:14 PM +0000 I qualified 7th and took 6th off the line with a good start. For several laps I held on to the position and put about an eight-second gap between me and Locarno in 7th. I was then in the process of reeling in Curtis and someone else when one of them spun in the Lesmos. That took my Lotus out hard. Limping back to the pit for a reset, I had contact with at least one other car, for which I am sincerely apologetic. Coming out of pit road I'd dropped down to about 15th. Soon I was back in 9th. I was catching Billy and another car but misjudged Billy's brake point at the end of the straight. Rather than hit him, I just put the car into the armco barrier and retired. I now have four DNFs in four starts. Can it get worse? It's GPL, so of course it can get worse.
I haven't watched the replay because frankly I'm not all that fond of war movies. Hope I didnt spoil anything for anyone. Really sorry Billy. was a fair way behind you towards the end of lap one approaching the Parabolica, all of a sudden I was upon you. I didnt think we were near the braking point... I tried to go up the inside to miss you but I was too close. Making you spin out. My apologies mate. Paul V. I thought I had time to get back on the track, but unfortunately that was not the case. To punish myself, I preferred to disconnect. I did not deserve to continue.
decidedly, this is not my year... Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) 1967 F1 Sprint (Privateers) - Monza - Feb 21 Post by: Rainier on February 22, 2021, 01:11:18 PM +0000 I had two accidents during the race. Each time, it was a consequence of a bad rejoin on the track for another driver.
Sorry but I reported these incidents because I think they could have been easily avoidable. As the fuel load lightened my rear tyres were getting a little too warm and ended up in the kitty litter after all .
In spite of all I enjoyed the race and after swapping places with Rainier a few times due to his misfortunes it became a battle to the flag with Dave winning by 4/100 sec ! In all the heat I forgot to take the stop and go , "AGAIN" ::) , mods please note . I was also a victim of bad rejoins at several places Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) 1967 F1 Sprint (Privateers) - Monza - Feb 21 Post by: il_lupo_mannaro on February 23, 2021, 07:37:54 PM +0000 Sorry Bernie, I'm the one that rear ended you.
I really didn't expect you earlier braking. My race was really to forget: I was checking Pribluda when I hit the Armco on the right side after the pits, silly me!! See you on track. Cheers Title: Re: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) 1967 F1 Sprint (Privateers) - Monza - Feb 21 Post by: francesco on February 26, 2021, 06:45:28 AM +0000 Quote I had two accidents during the race.
