REALLY looking forward to this one, hated the track at first, but it does have a really nice flow to it once you get going.

Yep, I found that it does reward a steady approach. With all those 90 degree corners you'd think it would be heaven for the last of the late breakers, but that's not really the case once the track is learnt.

Here's how the experts did it......

Hope I make it to the end  Undecided

Not sure if I can come back in time tonight. Undecided Might be just... Can any other track's setup be used here? High downforce track or not?

I used the default setup and just increased the coast from 0 to 60, and preload to 5
I also spent a lot of time playing around with the gearing, I made mine short to help me get round those tight 90 degree corners.
The most important thing to do though is LAPS, this is a tricky track to learn master but when it clicks its very rewarding.

It's going to be a tough race, let's just hope we don't get a huge pile up Tongue

I think patience is the key here. Aim to finish and wait for clear opportunities would be my advice and most of all, take it steady for the first couple of laps.

aye! after 2 DNFs and a 4th it would be nice to grab a podium. 36s so far too on race setup.... great track, really really surprised!  Smiley

Pile on the downforce for this one Tom. Monaco setup should work pretty well here. You can probably get away with a little shorter gearing too Wink.

is there a mandatory pti stop for this?

Tom, I've gone full wing, preload 10, coast 80 (seems to REALLY help with scrubbing the speed round those 90 deg turns), power 15

Tried short gearing, but found I was losing time with all the shifting, so opted to top out 5th instead

I got in to the hate phase and refused to get out of it! Not just the track , the lack of any feel when driving normally in the wheel, then the occasional jolt in gentler corners means i'm already flustered and not happy before i've even tried look at the track. I've got the centring spring at 50% and its done nothing, but i'm having to drop the FFB to reduce the spikes.

OK tonight, couldn't entirely focus during the race as little one was quite restless & I had to pull over a couple of times to check all was OK & stick the dummy back in Roll Eyes laugh

I like tracks like this, but I remember from organising PnG & GTL races that they were never very well attended, which is a shame Sad. Hope everyone comes back for the next round!

Brilliant track, brilliant race!!!!
Couldn't put a decent lap together in quallly, then clipped SRW at turn one after having already outbraked myself and dropping to the back of the pack. Lost my front wing during the incident with SRW and had to pit. Almost ran out of fuel on lap 20 (should have enough for the whole race?) and had to pit, got a tyre warning the following lap and had to pit!!!

Still managed to make up alot of time on the softs I put on and thank you to GT for letting me past, which gave me a podium, he could've probably held me til the end, or we both went off lol

That was a tough race  wacko

Too many distractions for me this evening and never got into the flow. Had a couple of silly spins and then broke my front wing trying to get it facing the right way again....x3  Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish Hit with a wet fish After the third time and with only 8 laps to go (and a quick bit of maths) I elected to tough it out without pitting for repairs. I might have just held on for a pody had I not clipped the armco and picked up suspension damage, but by that point Jamera had almost closed in on me and there was no point trying to defend. Nice drive J and well deserved  Cool

Congrats also of course to Navin and Purdie for a dominant show  Cool and thanks to all who turned out.

Sorry to hear about your frustration with the ffb Spanner. I know you've tried my settings but can't get on with them....maybe if a few could post their ffb from their plr files together with Logitech profiles.

Well that's the ugly one out of the way in this RL season. Off to the south of France next week and one of my favourite circuits, Ricard  Cool I predict a healthy grid  Smiley

A very very tough race sweatdrop..  I was spent afterwards like no other race this year angel. Plus, I had some real distractions here at my house that was being painted as we raced. Banging, sanding, dog barking and the fear that one of them would have to ask me a question during the race. I felt like a child having to tell the Foreman that I would still be at home but couldn't be disturbed because I was going to be racing with my buddies online.. He just looked at me funny Roll Eyes and said no problem. As far as the race went I had a great time for the first 1/3 chasing Sam who was very fast and consistent. He was driving very well and I couldn't break his concentration. Then for some reason he just went straight through at one of the tight corners.. Didn't look like he missed his braking point and he did just leave the race after that so I guessing he had some distraction at home that needed his attention. Hope we can finish that battle in the future Sam thumbup1 After that, I was basically alone in 2nd and was content to have a good 2nd place finish. Then I saw Andy pitted around the halfway point so I figured he must of been on soft tires. Not sure if his pace would run me down late in the race but that really didn't matter because I just tried to be consistent and save some tire for the end which I knew would be difficult here.. Unlike Montreal I couldn't get really good consistent laps and towards the end I was really struggling at anywhere from 3-4 seconds a laps slower than my earlier race pace. To the point, I made a mistake exiting onto the last back straight and knocked my front wing off with 3 laps to go.. Then like a chump I didn't look and see if anyone was coming and when trying to get the car turned around the right way I drove right into Legzy's way Embarrassed sorry mate. The good thing is I don't think it affected his race finish so if I was to have a momentary lapse of reason.. That was a good time. After that I just limped around with no front wing and finished the race. Congrats to Andy for a long deserved podium finish. Grats also to Jamera for his solid podium as well Grin. And to all that finished this very difficult track Wink I wont be looking back to race this track for awhile Tongue
