IIRC, the griplevels were changed for Suzuka to prevent the tyres heating up to much. So times should be faster than laprecords.

My F430 soft tyres were absolutely cooking last night!!! While in the Z4, the soft tyres were still down in the high 70's!

Oh dear...I am sorely in need of some practice....that was terrible. Great appologies to Ade.... ....total lockup aproaching the chicane and I couldnt do anything to avoid spinning you..Hope the damaged I caused wasn't what put you out mate. ....quit myself a couple of laps later as my lack of driving abillity was likely to make me a danger when the GT1's caught up. Back to the drawing board for me....it's not quite like riding a bike

Discoed with about 15 mins to go That was hard work. I kept having to remind myself to breathe I was concentrating so much - never was one for multitasking. Was having a bit of a lonely race having lost Smokey around the pitstops after a nice little battle. Was getting lapped by the faster GT1 guys (most of them) and made a couple of silly errors in the process - hope I didn't hold anyone up. Got a bit close to Peter at one point while lapping him, with a faster car on my tail. Don't think I touched, but apologies if I did. Hope everyone else had a good race

Well I made it hard work for myself. Spent too long driving with race fuel in qualifying, confident I would be able to put in a very low 2:03 and failed miserably. Put it on 4th on the small GTC grid. First few laps I got up to second though as my true speed came through and pressured Legzy who was leading. I think he went off at the end of the back straight in the fast left hander and I took the lead. I was running pretty solidly, but Legzy started to catch me as my bad tyre choice saw my softs get shredded. Legzy was all over me and I had to defend hard, but I knew it was only a matter of time. With my completely shredded soft tyres I chose to pit 10 minutes early at 50 minutes and stick on mediums. I added a bit of fuel, which I don't think I needed in the end (better to be safe than sorry though) and fumbled around the keyboard changing the tyres, so all in all the stop could have been at least 5 seconds quicker.
Stopping so early, it was quite a while before I figured out how things had panned out. Lazlow seemed to stop twice though (speeding in the pits?), as he seemed to be leading after the pit stops, only to come in the next lap again. I had 5 seconds on Legzy and for the last 35 minutes I tried to conserve tyres. Strangely I was going faster than I did in qually or on softs, down to 2:03.2 on mediums. Managed to hold it altogether and despite Legzy getting close in the closing laps I carried on for the victory.
Shame about the small GTC field. Not sure the split fields are working out too well in the Endurance events this season. The lower class seems to be badly attended. I was going to run GT1 after all too.

After your comments at the Donnington race last season my tactics when you are behind are to get as far out of the way as possible, even if it means leaving the circuit. Last few laps were amazing fun with four GTC cars in a massive battle of their own whilst having to watch for lapping GT1's.

Nice race Hard work in the Viper and beaten by TT in the Marcos again (not so badly this time though), but fun none the less. Had a good time trying to pass Goldtop after a spin early on. It is very hard to pass on this circuit. Also had a good chase with Dave and a few others. Did you let me past because you cut the chicane Dave? Sorry for spinning in front of you TT. I could see you could not avoid me after that. Sorry Stew for smashing into you after you span. Not much room for passing the GTCs at Suzuka, I thought we did well considering.

That was good fun Qually was tough getting a clear lap but when i did i kind of surprised myself with time. Didn't expect to be the next best after the Aliens. Was doin ok at the start almost keeping Mike in reaching distance and Jose behind. Then Mike made a mistake at the final chicane and i went past. The three of us were very close for quite a few laps but i got myself boxed in with a GTC in a tricky place and lost two places (maybe i should of been more assertive). Followed Jose for the rest of the first stint almost getting him twice after the hairpin but he defended well. We pitted together and left pretty much the same. Followed him again for the rest of the race but he always had a buffer of catching cars in the right places or so it seemed. Very happy with my pace and 4th as I'm still getting to grips with the 550. Lapping was pretty hard tonight but good fun. I want Busi drug tested lol that pace was insane Grats to podiums.
