Last night was interesting.
I'd been at the wake in the pub from around 2pm until roughly 5:30 - and as no one was home broke out the whisky to top up the beer I'd already had...
I decided that I'd do qualifying using my race setup as I'd need the practice (speed comes with consistency and lines - it's only full blown qualifying efforts that really need reflexes, and I didn't have those at the time!). This didn't go as well as it could have - my FL on the server from before the race was also the race setup and a lowish 1:28 - so the alcohol was obviously having an effect, I was a good second down on the times I should be doing and kept finding myself in the infield wondering how I got there
My biggest concern was going to be fighting my way back up the order from 5th after loosing my battle with VVA for 4th, I have little experience of racing actual people wheel to wheel and was concerned that by the time you added my inebriation I might be a bit of a risk.
Luckily I was able to keep it clean and didn't really suffer until I put a wheel wrong after taking the lead and was unable to react properly in time
The 2nd fight with Fabri followed by charging to re-close the 8 second lead Maxime had regained seemed to help sober me up a bit, it also helped that I'd learned not to trust the car as much as I normally would - so I didn't make the same mistake a second time.
Once back in the lead after a few laps of trying to find a clean way through I just concentrated on my rhythm and held on.
It was good to see a new face charging away at the front, Silverstone67 makes Anderstorp look complex - so I think you'll do alright
The Stewart certainly isn't handicapped there as I managed to take it to victory in the first(?) fun race using the mod there.
Well done to Fabri for finishing off the podium, pity Mark messed up as that could have made for an interesting race for the podium.
I 'think' that is the last of the dodgy conversions now? Hopefully it will be good quality tracks from here to the finish
